Boxing;something has to be done

Leonard shared some statistics recently about boxing deaths and injuries that were shocking. Tonight San Antonio's own Oscar Diaz is fighting for his own life. My prayers go out to him and his family.

I was worried about Diaz after the Johnson fight, so when I heard Teddy Atlas express the same concern... I knew I just wasn't being paranoid.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Oscar and his family. Oscar truly is one of the good guys.

Okay guys,
I usually just go through my internet to get updates on news, sports and my beovled horn. I am NOT big poster. Just this past season I got turned on to this website. I was not a poster until tonight when I saw the results of the Oscar Diaz fight and this was the only local website I could think of since the none of the news websites had info. If anyone can direct me to other wbsites that might have info on his conidition I would greatle appeciate it. I will be up for a while.

Please take time and say a prayer for him AND his family.

I really do think SOMETHING needs to be done about the injuries and deaths in boxing. It gets completely over-looked, and I don't understand why...

Its those damn gloves they use..their too padded so you have guys taking so many shots to the head all night.

Supposedly he is heavily sedated and not in a coma. So far so good. They removed part of his cranium for the swelling to go down.

My sister had the same thing, but she had a stroke. It took a long time for her to recover, but because of her age and medical condition. I thank God for what He did to save her life. It was tough for a long time because we never knew for sure if she would make it.

I can understand how is family and friends feel right now. I pray he makes it out and have faith he will.

just to educate people a little bit about reading a table. the 2000 number of 938 is total deaths in boxing since the beginning to time. 2001 of 1101 is an additional 263 deaths and so and and so on. Most of those deaths are NOT skilled fights, but nevertheless boxing needs to take more precautions. I suspect Oscar wasn't fully healthy in that fight because of the beating he took in the Golden Johnson fight.
