Already a hypothetical project, a joint-venture arena for UTSA and the Northside School District won’t be funded for at least three more years, superintendent Dr. John Folks said Thursday.
Folks said Northside’s bond committee had agreed to send a proposal to the school board asking for public funding for its half of the arena cost, estimated at $140 million. The proposal would have been separate from Northside’s main bond package. UTSA, however, could not commit to its share.
“I think they are committed, and hopefully they’ll be in a better position to move forward (in the future),” Folks said. “Once both entities are ready, it’s only a matter of going out and asking the people of North San Antonio if they’re interested in helping.”

This is how it should be. Convo sucks but it's functional purpose is still intact. No need to talk on additional burdens when football needs all the resources it can get.

This will happen 6 or 7 years down the road, and it will definitely be a big deal.

good info, Its good to know Northside will be ready to move forward once UTSA has their share. There needs to be an agreement and plan in place within the next 3 years as this is a necessity to get an invite to a better conference
