Happened to be be flipping through the league pass channels and found the Kings/Mavs game on. I haven't even ordered my league pass! This is sweet.

Im not used to seeing the Kings play this much backcourt defense. Still could of used a shotblocker or two this season...
Hopefully Williams makes it. He reminds me a little of Keon Clark.

I'm hoping both Williams and Amundson make it. Douby looks lost and a year or two in the D league should help.
It's quite a change watching Muss coach. I'm enjoying listening to him jaw at his players. I never realized how much of a corpse Adelman was.

DEFENSE IS THE NEW "NAME OF THE GAME"
Great defense for the first two quarters, only breakdown occurred under the basket with Miller vs. Dampier, but I guess that is to be expected. It's Dampier ;) Just make those shots from 15-18 Brad and all will be forgotten.
Everyone was hitting jumpers in the first quarter, but when Dallas finally settled in and brought it on the D end, Kings were forced to work a little harder. While Brad went 3-0 from the perimeter, Artest went 0-7.
No one is getting much under the basket offensively, although Reef had a pretty spin move for a bucket underneath, and Williams with a great board and put back, made it look easy too.
The Douby man picked up two fouls his first 10 seconds on the floor, then a travel charge shortly after that. Top it off with a bad pass and his minutes suddenly became very limited, LOL. It's a rookie thang, not that those first four or five minutes of nis NBA career will ever be forgotton...
Salmons was seen huffing and puffing after his first 7 or 8 minute stint. Hey Salmons, you'll get used to it, the others saw it coming from Musselman. You're from the east, you get a pass. 3 T.O. for the newb, but I like those 2 steals.
Big Nasty showed us why he's a wiley vet, he hit his jumpers and took it indide with a cool spin too. 4-4 for the lockerroom leader thus far, in only 7:41.

Hey guys, I wrote that long winded thang before I logged in, sorry for the "show off" post. My crown got a little crooked on that move...
WOW. Just wow.
Mavs are pusses for not playing Dirk. :)

Congrats on the win. The kings look very improved this year. Bibby looks in shape and the kings are actually active and lively. Something I didn't see much of last year.

Very cool mavsfan, thanks!
Kings look AWESOME. I'm thrilled, they are all over the place on defense.
Ager is a great addition, congrats on that.

I'm liking these traps they are running even after they score. Good stuff from Muss tonight. The team really hustled and fought. Even though it is only preseason, I liked what I saw, a team with drive.

Im jealous of the mavs bigs...
Damp, Diop, DJ...man those guys know how to clog up the paint, block and rebound
As for the Kings, I'm really excited to see what Price and Cisco will do this season, they played pretty good tonight.
It would suck big time if Justin Williams doesnt make the team...

Dude Justin Williams is a must keep. I'm telling you this guy is gonna become the next Keon Clark. He's aggresive defensively, rebounds missed shots and puts it back up, blocks shots.
Just look at his stats tonight in limited minutes. 7 pts, 6 rbs, and 2 blks. Not bad considering its his first preseason game and played a very limited role.

Jeter is a gonner (sorry 1LF), and maybe Petrie signs Amundson and sends him to the DL? We would STILL need to rid ourselves of one more player on the roster.
Fortunately there's still seven games left to look at these guys.

Williams even impressed me, and you all know that is not an easy task.

Based on what I have seen.....
Corliss isn't "Scorliss" anymore.
Hart impressed me for the first time.
Corliss knows the C position.
Bibby made me scream like a little girl! His offense and defense is incredible.
Loren is like a dead tree.
Brad still knows mid range jumpers and blocks.
Martin's 2/3 3pt is something we'd love to see.
Williams >>>>>>> Loren and Maurice BIG TIME!

While I would certainly hope so, that's a bit of a bold statement after only the first pre-season game. I would think we would have to wait to see how consistent the guys are gonna be to make these sort of predictions.

That's no bold statement. She had the disclaimer "IF".

uh.. actually, it's still a bold statement. or at least a homer view in the very least. not that i'm not pulling for muss, but just because he may do a solid job does not mean that he would automatically be a lock for coach of the year. to make that statement with or without the fucking IF after the first game of the fucking PRE-SEASON is pretty goddamn bold if you ask me.

Whoa! You sure you wanna use all those "fucking"? Well, I used to love your posts at KF but now you're an ass over here. Listen, once again, she said that Musselman's going to COMPETE (what every coach does every year) for the CotY (fucking you say?) IF he's going to keep up with this . She didn't say anything about Musselman getting the CotY award for sure.
:lmaoI did!

Wow, sounds like we should expect good things this season, I'm psyched!http://spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smismokin.gif Kings and defense, what a novel concept! They even showed Corliss on top plays of Sportscenter, when was the last time that happened? That was all I got to see but better than nothing. I know it's early but how did our new guys look?

I take it you were a fan of Adelman, which is cool and all but let me ask you this: After watching that serious 180 happen last night are you somewhat hopeful that Kings will compete this year--with the same starting lineup Adelman had at his disposal (and one he used during Bonzi's injury) after the Artest trade? Maybe you thought changing coaches was going to put Kings in peril for the 2006/2007 season, and that's cool and all. ;)
KFRebel is right about the word IF, however I understood that the statement was a bold one after just one preseason game. You could also describe Musselman as bold--so being in the same league makes me a happy, bold bitch.

LOL yea I was watching HPL when they showed Bibby and how he hates the new ball. Kind of funny that he was on fire with that same ball.
