Where can I find the "World at War" series? Youtube, NF, or elsewhere? I get on these war kicks where instead of looking at WWI or WWII from a global perspective, I find certain battles/conflicts/war crimes very interesting, like the Holocaust, Stalingrad, the bombings of Coventry and Dresden, etc.
I fucking hate Ken Burns documentaries. The guy can take almost any fascinating topic and make it boring as hell. Couldn't stand his specials on the National Parks when every single shot he took was from a 30-second walk off the side of the road. I don't know why I was expecting the amazing sweeping shots that Ansel Adams used to take. And then his baseball series was awful and I couldn't get more than 20 minutes through Prohibition. Can't stand the constant still photos accompanied by bad music and even worse narration. I'll check Nazi Hunters though. I'm really enjoying the World at War series; the interview they had with Traudl Junge was really interesting (loved Der Untergang too based on her story) and there is some amazing color footage too (the Hitler song being sung to footage of him, Eva, Himmler, and Heydrich was hilarious). I saw another one called "The German Wehrmacht" that was pretty good too. BTW, congrats on getting your black QB tonight!
"The War" by Ken Burns is pretty solid--particularly the parts about the pacific battles. On Youtube you can find all the episodes of Nazi Hunters from THC on there...fascinating stuff.
Hey man, you got any recommendations for great WWII documentaries? I just got that 11 DVD World at War series, which is pretty cool so far. LOL @ the Hitler song on the first episode. Any others worth checking out?
