Really? I figured he'd have at least 2-3 years at UCLA before trying to make the jump. It also seems like USC is starting to lose recruits left and right. Hopefully things get so bad we'll start seeing their big prospects like Cravens and Browne bail.
I've heard Mora was distracted looking for NFL teams to springboard to. He's busy having his people contact San Diego, Philly, etc.
After this bowl game and how much of a disaster their basketball team is, the Pac should look for a way to get rid of UCLA
Heard rumblings that Chol might be willing to red-shirt next year. He knows if he transfers he's red shirting, so rather than start all over in a new system, stay with a staff he trusts, work in practice vs. elite talent, and come back as a rs junior after, presumably, Ashley, Gordon and probably Tarczewski are in the NBA. It'll be he, Jerrett, Korcheck and whomever they bring in in 2013 (Rooks) and 2014.
It's infuriating that Jerrett gets more minutes than Chol. Jerrett literally can't do anything right other than shoot well for a big man. On the bright side, if they win tonight and go on to beat SDSU that's a very impressive out of conference performance this year.
Hope you went to the game. Damn, I wish I was there.
Stupid auto correct... Denker has inside track.
That all makes sense, but when you hold fourth quarter leads, the opportunities are there for progress. Denver has the inside track. I think we'll see some wildcat here and there with Anu Solomon, but Allen will get a chance as well.
I think they floundered at every turn to be a good team because they weren't a good team. Of those 4 losses you mentioned, ASU was the only team that didn't finish the season ranked top 16 and the only team they definitely should have beaten. They were never going to go on the road and get a win @ Oregon or @ UCLA. Matt Scott has always been a bad road QB. In 2009 he lost the starting job after his first road game because of how awful he was. In 2010 he was great @ home against Washington but their road game against UCLA that year was closer than it should have been because Scott was iffy in the 2nd half. Do you think Denker wins the starting job next year or do you think Rich Rod goes with a younger QB who he can groom for more than 1 year?
The season's record was what I expected. The journey to it, nowhere close. Some steps forward, but I have significant concerns about preparedness of the team when expectations are had. They floundered at every turn to turn the corner and be a "good" team. They had four real tests amidst expectations and lost at home vs. Oregon State, at Oregon, at UCLA, and at home vs. ASU to secure a higher place, bowl, expectation for next season. Most may be Scott and an undersized defense, but to fail every tests raises questions. You know the class they have coming in, and their returning strengths. Nexus years team goes as far as Karey takes them, but I anticipate more athletes on defense.
