They've been working for a year or more on this new site with its merger with FoxSports. New site is called FoxSportsNext.com, with individual program pages, including Arizona, but it's a clusterfuck. I moderate their premium forums, provide information and analysis, and have occasionally been used as a source for info on their boards and stories... I can't access a damn thing at the new site. Worse yet, it's not at all better than the 10-year old shit they had, so why go through the trouble to begin with? Now they just look like shit.
I'm very close with Jason Scheer and Josh Gershon, having known them for 8 years, so I'm pretty loyal to them. They acknowledge my worth by comping me access (not that I need it for info) and making me moderator, so I hope my issues get fixed. By and large it's a cool group of posters who deserves a better forum than they have or, it appears, are going to have for the near future. Not sure why they didn't just get V-bulletin. It's a much better format.
So uh what the fuck happened to scout.com
Arizona has planted a flag in Chicago for 2014 and 2015. They've offered four 5-star players, two bigs and two wings. We'll see what comes of it, but by 2014, any two of Ashley, Jerrett and/or Tarczewski could join Derrick Williams in the NBA, and that'd be a hell of a pedigree to turn down, even over Kentucky. Both 2014 prospects are top-10 bigs, so in two years, who knows. I don't think they get either, but finishing in a few top-2/3s isn't a bad thing for future regional exploits, and it only takes one successful player from Chicago at UA to open the gates, and Chicago has big-time talent every year.
Just to tell you, I'm of the belief that Gordon only comes to Arizona with some frontcourt turnover, namely in the form of Ashley going pro. There will be about 20 minutes of pt otherwise and while Gordon wants to win, he wants to play a significant role as well. That said, he's discussed playing alongside Ashley, so maybe I'm reading too far into things.
He scheduling fall visits, including to Arizona for the Red/Blue game. He's linked to Kansas and Kentucky visits as well. He's a spring decision, so nothing is imminent. That said he personally requested Arizona to recruit him stronger, so he's definitely interested.
Any updates on Gordon. My friend has already declared there's "no way" we can get him
You'd think he'd have learned by now...
The person I bet is someone who routinely doubts stuff I say (when it's just me repeating what I hear from you). I'll be able to make a bet like that again with him.
You'll probably need to find a new sucker, but next time you should bet a bit more. Only basketball... That's my main connection. Football is solid but spotty. I can't remember a time my sources were wrong on a basketball recruit.
yeah he did
