Not sure how the scholarship situation plays out, but AZ is making up ground FAST on Nash and 4-star C Amir Williams, who's even more notable to AZ than his talent because he was the HS teammate of McCallum, a player who would have committed to AZ for '10 had his daddy not played the "blood" card and guilted him into obscurity.

That's 15 for 12. My guess is Mayes does his best this season, then transfers, along with Lavender, maybe at mid-season of this year. Of course, this assumes Nash AND Williams are added. If not, then it's good with Mayes and Lavender gone.

To be honest, I told the group I was watching the game with that the 14-0 lead was merely the setup to an epic meltdown some 3+ hours befor the pick 6 of Foles. Damn impressive drive, especially without Criner and with the need to depend on Wrght. Hoping the atmosphere leads to a Josiah Turner commit. A source of mine says expect one, and he's a good source. You see where LeBryan Nash is taking about "AZ could be the one?" He's top-5 in '11.

They need to compete early. They can't fall behind. This means managing the game early to feel out the defensive speed (which is oft overrated in the Big-Ten). If Criner is healthy, he'll pose a mismatch to be exploited, and I love the versatility of the RB situation. Up the gut, on the edges, out of the backfield passes, down the field dump-offs... The defense is definitely better than expected. Wish we still had Mitchell, but that's about it. Iowa's defense is slightly better, but I think homefield and the depth/versatility on offense really gives UA a good chance. If UA scores over 20 points, I think they win. Under, they lose.

Huge weekend. Turner is in town with UA commit/AAU teammate Johnson and there's two unofficials by some 2013 teammates that are highly regarded as prospects. We win, we may net 'em all. I still remember Bayless' reaction in a similar situation. UA has good momentum with Turner at the moment.
