Your factoring and reducing the 'finish jobs' part...imagine that this was a number...for instance 2...you could factor that out and then reduce it to 1

finish job/finish job(1/24+1/40)=x hours
1/1(1/24+1/40) = x hours
1/(1/24+1/40) = x...
