Lakers forward Pau Gasol underwent a sonogram that showed a possible tear in his right hamstring, and he is not expected to play on the team's upcoming two-game road trip, the team said.
Gasol also had a more complex MRI exam today on his hamstring, and those results will be known by Tuesday.
Gasol is traveling with the Lakers for their games in Oklahoma City on Tuesday and in Houston on Wednesday but will not play. "We don’t expect him to play on this trip," Lakers spokesman John Black said.
Gasol, a two-time All-Star, has missed all three of the Lakers' regular season games and their last six exhibition games.
So easy, even a Caveman can tear it:
What's the recovery on something like that? Jose Reyes had a tear, but it may not be to the same degree.
oh tlongII you ommited a detail from the site "small tear in his hamstring"
Dude, a tear is a tear. He's ed. Your big men are made out of glass. Good luck over the next 2 months while Gasol rehabs!
trust tlong, he knows all about bigmen made out of glass.
And he tries to pretend he is not a troll
Gasol will be back and be ready when it counts. during this period Bynum is playing good enough for the lakers.
NON-ISSUE.... If Bynum gets his together. Hopefully Gasol will be back before we play Memphis Feb 1st (annual Bynum injury game).
It really is a non-issue. Gasol will be back when the Lakers really need him. In the meantime, it might be good for Bynum to get a lot more time.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Lakers are much stronger with Gasol, but since the playoffs are months away, Pau's absence is no big deal right now.
83 Win Ecstasy may be in jeopardy though.
The Lakers will be fine until he returns. Now if Bynum were to go down as well...
It's a matter of time before Bynum goes down too. I would give up my Laker fan card about now if I had one.
Nah, you wouldn't tlong and you know it.
Lots of people may say stuff about you but the one thing they can't say is that you jump bandwagons.
Blazermaniac is an understatement
oh well bye bye 77-5
He actually had that test awhile ago that showed there might be a slight tear. He had an MRI today to see is any progress was made.

yeah but we can count on a 75 win Ecstasy !
My understanding is that the MRI results are not good.
You're such a ing moron. The difference between a minor tear and a strain is nothing. It's all about severity. We'll just have to wait for the MRI results. Lakers have an immensely soft schedule the first month and a half so even if he's out for a while they should be able to get by.
