Trump impeached? You can bet on it
The prospect that the president won't make it through his term is big business for bookmakers.

There’s already talk of impeachment, just three weeks into Donald Trump’s turbulent presidency. In fact, many are already betting on it.

Gambling houses all over the world are taking in action on whether Trump, inaugurated just last month, will resign or be impeached. And the odds aren’t as long as you might think.

Ladbrokes, the British oddsmaking giant, has Trump’s chances of leaving office via resignation or impeachment and removal at just 11-to-10, or just a little worse than even money. The odds of Trump being impeached this year in the House of Representatives are only 4-to-1, according to the Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, despite GOP control of the chamber. You can win $180 on a $100 bet with Bovada, the online gaming site, that Trump won’t make it through a full term — though the bet is off if Trump passes away during the next four years.

All in all, Trump has meant big business for the international gambling industry. There’s always been betting on politics — mostly as a novelty around election season — but professional bookies say Trump’s unlikely victory and tumultuous transition mean that gamblers are jonesing to wager on his presidency.

“From a betting perspective, Donald Trump’s presidency has triggered a massive boom for these kinds of markets,” said Alex Donohue, the PR manager of Ladbrokes. “With Donald Trump, everything he does, it can be turned into speculation, and that can be turned into gambling.”

It would be great if he did something worthy of it. Then we can get a real republic as president.

How Trump can be held accountable for violating the Cons ution, even if Congress doesn’t care

An obscure legal tactic could be used to hold Trump accountable for illegal acts without involving Congress, Jed Shugerman, a professor at Fordham University Law School, tells ThinkProgress.

“The more widespread a problem that a higher official creates for the entire public, the harder it is to challenge it because its hard to find an individual that stands out as more injured than anybody else by the highest officials hurting the American public broadly,” Shugerman told ThinkProgress.

Shugerman solves for this problem by turning the standing problem on its head.

    The Quo Warranto solution

Shugerman’s approach stems from one important legal concept:

Incorporation is a privilege afforded by the state, but to maintain corporate status, one must conduct business legally.

State attorneys general have the power to bring actions against corporations, something known as a “Quo Warranto” proceeding, to determine whether the corporations are a conduit for illegal activity. This is known as a corporation acting “ultra vires” or beyond its legal authority.

In this case, the proceeding would determine whether Trump’s corporate en ies are being used as a conduit for illegal emoluments to Trump.

Importantly, the case would involve a public official (a state attorney general) suing a private en y (the Trump Organization). This means standing would be on much firmer ground.

In many states, Quo Warranto authority has been explicitly provided to the state attorney general by statute. In New York, for example, the attorney general has the authority to bring such an action against a corporation under New York Business Corporation Law § 1101:

    (a) The attorney-general may bring an action for the dissolution of a corporation upon one or more of the following grounds:

    (1) That the corporation procured its formation through fraudulent misrepresentation or concealment of a material fact.

    (2) That the corporation has exceeded the authority conferred upon it by law, or has violated any provision of law whereby it has forfeited its charter, or carried on, conducted or transacted its business in a persistently fraudulent or illegal manner, or by the abuse of its powers contrary to the public policy of the state has become liable to be dissolved.

    (b) An action under this section is triable by jury as a matter of right.

If successful, the remedies in such a proceeding are “revoking or dissolving the corporate charter, enjoining it from exercising the illegal activity, and/or imposing a financial penalty on the corporation.”

In the case of Trump, that could mean enjoining the Trump organization from doing business with foreign governments, requiring that Trump divest from certain assets, or completely dissolving the Trump corporation.

The proceeding could involve discovery and significant disclosures by Trump, including his tax returns and how much business he does with foreign governments.

The special case of Trump’s D.C. hotel

A Quo Warranto proceeding can be used to challenge the use of a corporation to funnel illegal emoluments, but also any other illegal activity. In Washington, D.C., Trump appears to have violated his lease with the federal government regarding his new hotel—the GSA lease prohibits federal officials from controlling the hotel.

The attorney general for Washington, D.C., Karl A. Racine, could potentially bring a Quo Warranto proceeding against the Trump organization for violating its government lease. That proceeding could force Trump to divest from the hotel or take other remedial steps.

    The ideal venue: New York

New York would be an ideal venue to bring such a proceeding because the Trump Organization is officially incorporated there.

Not gona happen unless he gets framed or the military takes over which would not really be an impeachment but a coup.

Hes too smart for re ed people like Shillarys clows or CNN. He has run circles around them so far and there is no indication this is going to change anytime soon.

Congressional Democrats Are Already Warning Trump About Impeachment

Progressive Caucus Vice Chair Mark Pocan says the president must resolve “direct conflicts in both domestic and foreign policy” or face cons utional consequences.

Impeachment is not a legal mechanism, it’s a political act.

An impeached official is not charged by a prosecutor and tried in the courts; nor is he or she jailed or fined if found guilty.

An impeached official is charged by the House of Representatives, tried by the Senate, and removed from office if convicted.

Pocan has spoken, as members of Congress should, with an eye toward “keeping every option open to try to get this administration to function like any other administration in the past—Democrat or Republican.” “Clearly,” the congressman says, “one of those remedies is the power of impeachment.”

Pocan described instances where Trump has disregarded safeguards “designed to prevent corruption and foreign influence over policy decisions.”

“These are just tip of the iceberg examples of direct conflicts in both domestic and foreign policy under this president,”

Should the president fail to address potential conflicts and embrace necessary transparency, Pocan said, “we’ll have to take other actions, including legislative directives, resolutions of disapproval and even explore the power of impeachment.”

Dems should shut the up about impeachment talks and focus on winning the senate. They ain't going to do without it and talking like this will just backfire on them.

Moby (Yes, The Musician) Claims He Can Guarantee Russia Dossier Is ‘100%’ Real

after spending the weekend talking to friends who work in dc i can safely(well, ‘accurately’…) post the following things:

1-the russian dossier on trump is real. 100% real. he’s being blackmailed by the russian government, not just for being peed
on by russian hookers, but for much more nefarious things.

2-the trump administration is in collusion with the russian government, and has been since day one.

3-the trump administration needs a war, most likely with iran. at present they are putting u.s warships off the coast
of iran in the hope that iran will attack one of the ships and give the u.s a pretense for invasion.

4-there are right wing plans to get rid of trump. he’s a drain on their fundraising and their approval ratings, and the gop and koch
brothers and other u.s right wing groups are planning to get rid of trump.

5-intelligence agencies around the world, and here in the u.s, are horrified by the incompetence of the trump administration, and are working to present information that will lead to high level firings and, ultimately, impeachment.

I’m writing these things so that when/if these things happen there will be a public record beforehand.

these are truly baffling and horrifying times, as we have an incompetent president who is essentially owned by a foreign power.

Foreign Spies Must Be Bored by How Easy Trump Makes Their Jobs

PAYING MEMBERS OF Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach were treated to some impromptu dinner theater this weekend as the new president handled a national security crisis in full view of fellow diners on the resort’s terrace.

Apparently untroubled by the possibility that foreign intelligence services might have made the minimal effort required to plant operatives among the guests, or wait staff, Trump was photographed discussing North Korea’s surprise missile test with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan as waiters removed dishes and aides used their phone flashlights to illuminate sensitive do ents.

Several images of the spectacle were posted on Facebook a short time later by a new member of the club, Richard DeAgazio

boots I would never try to get anyone to come out against their will on SpursTalk.
And indeed, it is one of the tenants (allegedly) of ST to not go for personal info.

That having been said, you're dropping some serious hints.
Generalized question. Would you be comfortable coming out on ST or not?

    OF COURSE NOT

U.S. House tax panel will not seek Trump tax returns

A congressional tax oversight committee will not seek U.S. President Donald Trump's tax returns despite calls from Democrats for a review to determine possible business ties to foreign countries including Russia, the panel's Republican chairman said on Monday.

Defying decades of precedent, Trump has refused to release his tax do ents, which Democrats say could show whether his business empire poses any conflicts of interest as he moves forward on issues ranging from tax reform to foreign relations.

"If Congress begins to use its powers to rummage around in the tax returns of the president, what prevents Congress from doing the same to average Americans?" what a stupid
