Hate to see Kawhi go, at this point it seems pretty ing likely though.
wouldnt mind Tatum and brown in a trade for him. Maybe Tatum and picks if they won’t do that. Honestly don’t think we will get a much better haul than that
Pop will knock him down to 20 mpg so he can "get over himself", and "learn the system" of standing around and dumping the ball to Aldridge.
He would be standing in the corner while Patty pounds the air out of the ball & getting benched for celebrating.
I don't know why you guys think Ainge will trade Tatum and Brown for Kawhi.... It's beyond ridiculous. Have y'all no clue of how Ainge has proceeded in trade talks? And then factor in Kawhi's leverage and injury history. I keep saying it Ainge is a worthy adversary. Only chance we get is if Kawhi graces us with at least three options in the event he wants out to start a bidding war. And then the team that could do it has Jerry West as a consultant now. If it was just Doc it would be easy money... but the league is getting smarter. If it's LA and Boston it will keep the price lower. LA could give Ingram, Kuz, and Zubac with Dengs sasquatch dic contract at the most and probably without a pick while Boston would give one of Tatum or Brown with Horford and one pick. That's the most I can see. Now if Philly comes in with something like Fultz, Saric, and LA first and the Clippers with the two lotto pick and Tobias and pieces, that gives the Spurs some leverage and days of reports of who's in the lead. As many have said at exhaust it all comes down to Kawhi about everything. If the dude don't really want to be here I hope he has the mercy and kindness to let us have options. It's the difference.
I don't think this trade happens, but just in case, in.
You must have meant Dederick Tatum because the Spurs have no shot at Jayson Tatum.
Insist on Mills for a first rounder in the deal too. Celts are loaded with picks.
How many games would Spurs have won with Tatum this year? 60? and then a lottery pick on top of that? Sounds pretty good to me.
Hypothetically, in a trade with the Celtics, there’s no chance we’d get both. Ainge is the king of lowballing and this would be no different. He would likely give up Brown and a couple draft picks, and that’s it.
I'd really love to here how the scenarios would hold down between Ainge & PATFO, Pop may have been slipping as of late but he still ain't no Billy King or Dan Gilbert.
Will approve mods to change my username to Tatum m8
Just one of the reasons I don’t think this trade happens.
IN. Always liked Tatum.
But the Spurs won't get him.
Celtics finished #2 surviving the season without their two best players just because their coach and their young players. They won't trade Tatum, maybe Brown but not Tatum.

That would put Tatum firmly on the bench, behind Kawhi and Hayward. You don't stop the trade for an All NBA player for a bench guy, a 3rd string SF. They can draft another young wing player with whatever pick (MEM, SAC) isn't included in the trade.
I don’t see how the deal would work with the existing payroll on the Celts. Horford, Kyrie, Haywood already on max deals. I don’t think Spurs would get any of these players.
