The smart ones are vaxxed
Great, why not for elementary/middle/high schools?
The school districts know where the kids live, a supply of rapid tests could be sent to every student/staff household. Ditto masks.
The smart ones are vaxxed
good luck testing under 12 year olds, cruella
High school notifies close contacts
much preferable to leaving them unprotected.

not everywhere
Disagree. The winning generations in the future will be battle tested with natural covid immunity. The losing ones will be on 4 monthly boosters and beetus type 2 forever.
Sacrifice other peoples kids now, en masse, without protection and mitigation measures fully within our reach, for a glorious future with natural immunity at some unspecified future time.
And you say I'm cruel.
en masse
Post the stats of kids being killed or permanently disabled en masse
by hater's reasoning, no one should be protected from disease at any time, because natural immunity and survival of the fittest are preferable.

I haven't seen the studies, I'm sure they'll be ongoing. The cohort of infected kids is about to get much bigger. ~520 kids have died so far.
Gonna be an ugly autumn, I'm sure we'll have years to discuss the impact.
Why do you keep flip flopping on this?
I'm not saying that's what has happened, I'm saying that's now a possibility with Delta and a mass return to in-person schooling --without proper testing and mitigation -- during a period of rampant community transmission.
Objective conditions are different than last year, expecting the same results is simple-minded.
Some adults can't receive the vaccine and hospitals are starting to overflow again, Derpin
Im vaxed. The smart ones are vaxed. It defeats your entire premise that kids can infect and thus hurt adults. The smart ones are vaxed.
CDC tells me 412 17 and under deaths TOTAL. out of around 75 million.
Yeah we are not closing schools permanently with those stats
Nobody anywhere has said that vaccines 100% protect you from getting it. Why do you and Derpin need to constantly be spoon fed this same info over and over?
I'm not advocating for shutting down schools, I'm advocating for more testing and more protection. COVID will take care of shutting down schools, it's already doing that.

I think that's what most of us are advocating for
not hater or Karrin. not the state of Texas.
Good. Im good with that. Do that. But in the meantime keep schools open.
You were just arguing against testing kids younger than 12.
No one in this thread has argued for that. But in the meantime keep schools open.
If we work hard to keep kids safe maybe we can avoid COVID shutting them down for us, wouldn't that be desirable too?
Insaid goodnluck w that. Most parents wont allow school nurses to stick sticks up their elementary kids. And if they send the test home the parent most likely will stick it up theirs.
Its a worthless endeavour
