If the Spurs were making up an injury to get over on people. Wouldn't it make more sense to say it was the previously operated on ankle?? Rather than the other ankle that nobody knew was "hurt"??

    So, to recap:

Manu is on the shelf because he really does have a season ending injury,

or Manu is on the shelf because he is being held out as a precaution,

or Manu is on the shelf because he's part of a trade that's being worked out,

or Manu is on the shelf because the Spurs don't want to part with him and want to force a team in the red to take crap back for their star,

or Manu is on the shelf because Pop got bored.

Shiit, I hope he will be healthy, at least for playoff. Losing this guy for season sucks.

What is the logic with "faking Manu's injury"

Like people mentioned earlier, what's so hard for a team to say no about trading Manu?

Is the idea that if Manu is injured teams will just get desperate and settle for Oberto/Bowen/Mason?

    This is really perplexing...

It has to be CIA... if it was true... why wouldn't they just come out and say it?

I fail to see how them admitting he is hurt helps or hurts them if they already know...

Another team would find out in a trade etc etc... with a physical...

This way he is hurt via rumor... no one is on the record... very strange...

I'm actually wondering, if this is indeed a CIA Pop move, if Manu even knows what's up. I can completely envision this conversation:

Pop: "Manu, we're going to say your right ankle is banged up. You're not coming to the rest of the trip with us, and you're going to keep quiet".
Manu with the puzzled face: "Ok"

With it being 7:30 ET even if the Spurs were going to make a trade they wouldn't announce it until tomorrow would they?

Yes. Manu with one more year left on his contract is more appealing than flotsam and jetsam.

    Ginobili ankle injury raises questions
    By Jeff McDonald

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Manu Ginobili has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Pistons, as well as the final game of the Spurs' rodeo road trip against Washington on Saturday.

Ginobili missed Tuesday's loss at New York, remaining in San Antonio for tests and treatment on what the team has termed a sore right ankle.

The Spurs did not disclose the scope and severity of his injury Wednesday. A source within the organization says the injury in not considered a threat to end Ginobili's season.

Ginobili underwent a battery of tests Tuesday, including an MRI. Team doctors are scheduled to meet with coach Gregg Popovich, general manager R.C. Buford and athletic trainer Will Sevening on Thursday to discuss the findings.

    Then I'm really relieved.

If you're not serious, a lot of people will be unhappy with you.

Thank you for the information. I can breathe again.

Deep breathing. In through nose count to five. Out mouth count to seven.
