the above = summer league dynasty!
Considering all the guys we
a) Just drafted
b) have stashed in Europe
c) have stashed in Austin
d) having loafing on the team
We could very well assemble one of a summer league team. Consider that all of these players are connected strongly to the Spurs and may participate:
DeJuan Blair
Jack McClinton
Nando de Colo
George Hill
Ian Mahinmi
Marcus Williams
Malik Hairston
James Gist
Viktor Sanikidze
I would assume that all of the above (minus probably Sanikidze) will participate. It's really too bad that the RMR is toast, otherwise this summer might have been a LOT of fun.

This team will kick some ass!! I'm sure that they would defeat Phoenix Suns NBA league roster in a playoffs series.
Tomas Pacesas, the Lithuanian coach of Prokom (polish team) will be one of coach Bud assistant.

How many Summer league guys make the Spurs this year?
Hill (obviously)
Blair
And....?
I thought Newman was going to coach them again this year?
Is Hill in the Summer League a sure thing? I don't think he's got much to prove as far as being in the Spurs roster. I honestly think we won't see him there...
I'm pretty sure he'll be in there. No matter what, he still needs experience, and even if this is Summer League, it's still experience. If he plays the point in the SL, it could help him a lot.
There is also Alex Garcia and possibly Terrell McIntyre.
When does the tv summer league schedule come out?
Hill still has a long way to be a legitimate point guard. He needs to go to the summer league with a pass/create mentality and not try to score too much.
You know that the Spurs are at or over the tax, and they have only nine players signed, eight if Fin opts out. You must carry a minimum of thirteen on your roster. They will sign one big man at MLE or most of MLE cost, but everyone else will be on the cheap. That means second rounders or former second rounders like Gist, Hairston and Williams. At least four of them will make the roster, more if the Spurs are amenable to carrying 14 or 15 on the roster, and farming them out to Austin.
Austin Nichols the french kid don't forget him.
Nando De Colo will NOT be with the Summer league team, he will be with the French National team wich is OK.
Alot higher compe ion and getting even more familiar with Parker than he already is IMO.
Hill will be there.

The article say that Coach Bud will be Spurs SL head coach.
Maybe it's wrong but it is what they are saying.
For what it's worth, the McDonald article says Newman will be the coach.
There's no reason for Hill not to be there. Yeah he's already got a roster spot, but it's still a great opportunity for him to get some court time meshing with guys like Blair, McClinton, Gist and anyone else who might have a shot at making the team.
Cross your fingers that its Bud.
Anyone going to the Summer League this year? I just found out my schedule, I'll be out there for the first weekend. I'll only get a shot at one Spurs game, but it's better than nothing.
It's more likely Budenholzer, then.
Thanks.
I'm heading to Vegas the 24.
Oh well
I don't think Pop likes to have too many young guys on the bench, so most of them will be in Austin next year. But hey, you never know he may be changing his ways and carry 4-5 young guys on the big club roster. I hope...
I will be there! Do you know how much are tickets for the entire SL?
