Blair is a tad taller than 6'1". Just a tad.
I don't see Blair firing 3 pointers any time soon. Find a new comparison.
I was watching 99 finals a couple days ago when I found Blair is very similar type of player compared to Larry Johnson.
Physically, both are 6'1, Larry was 250 lbs, Blair is 260 lbs(since he lost weight in summer). Both have broad shoulder and are strong as ox, based their games on strength and power but not on jumping and versatility.
Besides, they've got very similar post moves, soft hands, and toughness.
He's Not Millsap, for he's lack of atheleticism. He's Not Charles Barkley, for he doesn't have that range and jumping. I hope Pop would not just make him a Malik Rose type of player, IMO he's got the potential to be next Larry Johnson. I'm just realistic.

Larry Johnson was taller than 6'1" too. How about we hold off on the comparisons for a while?
Their height should be 6'7, just a mistake, I was too rushed to post.
I grew up in NC watching the Charlotte Hornets and I can give you a definite answer on that which is no. LJ back during those days had great athlethic ability which Blair does not. LJ had mad hops I remember at one point of time he was one of the best dunkers in the league plus he had great footwork along with a 3 point shot. LJ really was a complete player he was athlethic, could play the inside and outside, good passer, could rebound. I remember watching games where he would go off for 30 plus against the Knicks which wasn't easy to do during those days. Blair is not LJ. If Blair was LJ the spurs would be hands down a lock to win the le.
Love Blair, but no. He's not the next Larry Johnson. Larry had way more offensive skills than Blair.
His offensive potential is still an unknown variable for most of us, as well as Pop. Nevertheless, it's intriguing to observe his hustle and instinctive ability to rebound, which some say is an indicator of success at the NBA level. It will be interesting to see how he develops under the Spurs.
Blair is 6' 5" in socks. His extreme arm length makes him equal to to #1 draft choice--Blake someone. He has huge hands. He seems unusually mature for a 20 year old. IMO by playoff time he will be a major factor in the Sprurs run to the le.
Both are undersized power forwards. That's where the comparison begins and ends.
Blair will never enter a slam dunk contest.
[waiting for the photoshopped GrandMama pics]
No.
I do see the resemblance. Would be nice if he developed Brand's midrange game (which shouldn't be impossible but will take a lot of hard work and maybe a few seasons.)
@OP
If Blair starts nailing 3's with a great shooting form then you might be on to something.
He needs a stable jumpshot like 'Dice then he'd be BEAST 2.0
Larry Johnson was a 3-point shooter, you've got to be kidding.
The best comparisson I can find at this point of Blair's career is Malik Rose, let's hope that with time he becomes a much better player than Malik.
english mother er do you speak it
no the next scola!
i compare him to ben wallace with scoring but no block shoting
If we can do that, then I want to compare Blair to Michael Jordan with more rebounding but less of everything else.
I still like the danny fortson comparison
Lmao! Good one!
as long he doesnt lern to pumpfake with ball im downn with that
