SMU! SMU! SMU!
I will keep this alive until it happens
some fun articles starting to surface
Is SMU Going To Fundamentally Change College Football As We Know It?
How the Mountain West Can Become an Automatic BCS Qualifier
too bad the MWC doesn't like Fresno St.
and too bad that it looks like all 9 MWC teams will have to be part of the AQ conference, It'd be nice if there were a couple that were blatantly drop-able so they could get some more CUSA West teams, maybe Wyoming, but they were a charter member or something, don't know if that means anything
maybe if the Big 10+1 takes one from the Big East, and then they raid the CUSA East, could get the ball rolling on a New, 12 team MWC with a north and south.
I'd like to see
North
BYU
BSU
UTAH
Colorado St.
Air Force
??Fresno St./Wyoming??
South
TCU
New Mexico
Houston
Southern Methodist
SDSU
UNLV
or could go East/West too, that might make more sense with Fresno St.
to make a new conference and not include one the most successful schools against BCS teams would be a crime, It's got to be Fresno St.
I'm all for some sort of scenario along this vein. I'm tired of non-BCS schools getting ed.

not much news or opinion out there, or if there is I can't find it, I was expecting this to be a bigger story, but I guess the media has moved on to basketball season now
if they did this its obviously going to be the mwc

further reason why I don't like what the big 10+1 is doing, I don't want to see TCU/Utah leave and this whole precarious thing up.
and I don't like that's it's only BSU (likely) getting an invite, a 10 team conference allowing only 3 OoC games is no good, MWC needs 12 teams, a championship game, and lots of OoC games each year, it can't be that hard to find 2 more quality teams who would probably accept like Fresno St. or Houston...
