I was rewatching that shorthanded goal, and I didn't even realize Bergeron seemed to carried it into the goal with the butt of his stick. I guess that's legal, since he only interfered with the goalie due to ERhoff pushing him, but still a weird play.
WTF? Has anyone figured out why the Canucks' fans went ape ? I know that their team lost but damn. Was it because of the way the Canucks lost game 7 or just because they lost period? Boston fans can't anymore at least not for a long time. All of their teams have won championships in the last 9 years. Talk about being spoiled.
So the last two years original six teams have won the Cup and ended long Cup droughts. Is Toronto going to be the champ next season?
Toronto?
Not a chance![]()
Er... last 7 1/2 years, actually.
Pats 04
Sox 07
Celtics 08
Bruins 11
Yup, the PATRIOTS are the team that has gone the longest without a championship. Too bad we couldn't seel the deal in 2007 against the Giants, or it'd be a 4 1/2 year window in which all Boston teams won.
The 9 year period I was talking about goes back to 2002 when the Patriots won the Super Bowl for the first time. A lot of parades and championships for Boston in that 9 year period. Patriots did it three times, Red Sox did it twice, Celtics did it once, and the Bruins this year. That's 7 championships since 2002. Must be nice.
Yeah, honestly, I feel damn lucky. I know there's eventually going to come a 10, maybe 20 year window where none of the teams win, and I'll just have to look back to these happy days.
One of the more interesting moments from last night's game was Horton pouring the bottle of Boston water on the ice before the game. I love sports supers ions.
An interesting fact:
NEW YORK (AP) -- The Boston Bruins' Stanley Cup-clinching victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night earned the highest television rating for an NHL game in 37 years.
...
The game earned a 43.4/64 in Boston, the best for a hockey game since records began being kept for the market in 1991. That's higher than any game in the Celtics' last two NBA finals.

I think it's funny how people were saying that the ratings were going to be bad because of Vancouver and Boston. Hockey is kinda becoming like the NFL in that there is a different champion every year. A team has a pretty good run and winds up with the championship.
Most likely bored rich kids from the suburbs looking for an excuse to wreck things.
It didn't help that the media kept on hyping up the '94 riots.
Lakaluva is a Canucks fan !!!!!

Did you hear why Sedin couldn't win the Stanley Cup?
He just didn't have the Hart for it.

Nice
Hey by the way, the Flyers had a firesale yesterday
Dumped salaries, got great young talents, signed Bryzgalov
And drafted Sean Couturier today - they got a high draft pick in the Carter trade
Couturier is a great pickup
Eastern Conference = fck

What about Dougie Hamilton falling to the Bruins at nine? I figured he would definitely be gone by then.
