Suns: Steve Nash used NBA comparisons to argue Messi is better than Ronaldo

Lionel Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo is the debate that has defined the past decade of international soccer. Neither has won a World Cup le, but they have pretty much every other award and trophy locked up.

But lately, the hardware has slid in Ronaldo’s direction.

So after watching Ronaldo’s Real Madrid win a second consecutive Champions League le Saturday, Nash found himself taking the other guy’s side.

First, one of Nash’s ex-teammates, Jared Dudley, gave his own thoughts.

That prompted Nash to weigh in simply.

An MLS assistant coach/former player swooped in to tell Nash to hold up.

But Nash had an answer to that, too.

So Eskandarian brought the facts.

And Nash brought the NBA analogy.

They are not even the same kind of player to begin with, Messi can create plays for himself and for his team mates, Penaldo needs to be spoonfed all the time, Messi can leave 5 guys biting the dust and Ronaldo never did something like that.
Messi is a better goaler, stats back that statement and he doesnt get 40 penals per season like the other guy.
Also judging 12 good months on one player is pretty re ed, lets judge the last 10 years...
