Per 24/7, 2014 CB/S Tony Brown will be in Austin this weekend for the West Virginia game. He was in Baton Rouge last weekend for LSU/Towson.

Getting A'Shawn in is big. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he's been on campus since Junior Days. Being back in Austin in a game day atmosphere should be a nice refresher for him before he takes other visits.

We're getting to that time of year where we'll see a handful of new names pop up because Texas is evaluating several guys in hopes of closing the class in a strong way. They had some luck last night when blue-chip CB Mackensie Alexander of Immokalee, FL reached out to the staff and was able to talk to Duane Akina for about 45 minutes. He's currently ranked #39 by Rivals and #27 by 24/7. Clemson is considered the favorite right now and Florida is not supposed to be a player.

I know this is a recruiting forum but I was thinking about some things in regards to this weekends game. I know alot has been said about DKR never being loud enough so I was doing some research and found this forum on shaggybevo.com
Just wanted some input from some of you who may have some more knowledge about this. I personally have never been to a college football game. I prefer to watch from my living room and have the best seat in the house but if I were to go, I would be acting a damn fool and probably not have a voice left after the game.

Yeah, the home crowd hasn't been loud at all the last few years. Being a guy that was at a bunch of home games the last few years, losing at home to UCLA, Baylor and Iowa State does not help in generating crowd noise. If we are compe ive against West Virginia rest assured it will be a loud and a blast. The fans have serious pent up demand for two good teams and a compe ive game.
Add another big name to the attendees list. 2014 WR KD Cannon is making the trip to Austin, per 24/7.

He's been accused of being quite dramatic with his recruitment and changes his mind a lot, so there's a chance he's just fishing for another big offer. We'll see if anything comes of it but he's supposed to talk with Akina again.
Hey Floss, what is the reason for A'Shawn wavering on a visit this weekend? This is a little disconcerting after the visits his been making.
I changed him to a "maybe" because the pay sites have said as much. I don't think he's necessarily wavering but it's just that nobody knows what he's going to do. He's always extremely tough to get a hold of and rarely does interviews so any information on him is usually from secondary sources. Not that it's a bad thing but the kid just marches to the beat of his own drum. The public doesn't know that he's making a trip until he shows up.
Thanks for the insight Floss! It is certainly not a bad thing for a kid to march to the beat of their own drum, except perhaps for overzealous fans like us who follow recruits while they're in high school.
As someone who is not a member of all of the paysites I appreciate the quality info you bring on this board.
