I can't believe there is a possibility that a team that lost to Kentucky 47-14 might get a BCS bid. They've worked their way up through the polls almost by default. Florida State would reduce Kent State to a pink mist within the first 5 minutes.
Knox to pick between Ohio State and Texas at 4pm central time.

Thanks, Pop. Texas needs some good news right now.
It would be hilarious if Kent State knocked OU out of the BCS so that they could play in a tier game than arguably the worst BCS game to date: Oklahoma/UConn.
If Northern Illinois wins and K-State loses who is going BCS?
2014 OL Demetrius Knox just committed to Texas.

Thought for sure he was Ohio State bound. Did you expect to land him TFloss?
National Championship = Notre Dame vs. Alabama
Rose = Nebraska vs. Stanford
Sugar = ??? vs. Florida
Fiesta = Oklahoma vs. Oregon
Orange = Florida State vs. Rutgers
I'm not great with these projections, but the Sugar would be looking for someone and they have taken a crap team in the past (see Cincinnati, Hawaii). The next highest ranked team would be #14 Clemson. LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Oregon State and UCLA would not be eligible for BCS bids as two teams from their respective conferences would already have punched their tickets.
I said a few weeks ago that it would most likely be Texas because he hasn't visited Alabama or Ohio State and Gresham was already committed. Rare that a recruit commits without making a trip first. However, I wasn't completley sold because Texas is struggling, potentially going through multiple coaching changes and Knox loves throwing people off on Twitter. I'd mark his commitment down in pencil.
TE DJ Grant has said that he will not be applying for a sixth year of eligibility.
For me, I thought he was 98% to commit to Texas today.
Now keeping him, that is where the battle really starts...
Looks like Tennessee has hired Jim Tressel. No official link yet.
He is going to need to ditch that sweater vest in the SEC.
Sorry as I posted this too soon. After reading some more, I'm not sure Tennessee can even make this hire because of his violations at Ohio State.
Another job opens up. Southern Miss has fired Ellis Johnson:

I can't wait till the day this post says Texas and Mack Brown. Might be a while though
Kentucky has hired Florida State defensive coordinator, Mark Stoops.

Crazy rumor of the day from SPORTSbyBROOKS is that Arkansas is offering Les Miles a deal of 5 years for $27.5 million.
A quick reminder that the last contact period of the 2012 recruiting year started on Sunday and will run through February 2nd. There are some quiet and dead periods in between these dates, but the important part to remember is college coaches are allowed to see individual prospects off-campus up to SIX times during this window (no more than once per week). A good example of this is Darrell Wyatt traveling to see WR Dorial Green-Beckham multiple times last year before he ultimately picked Missouri. There will be a lot of movement back and forth after the regular season ends on Saturday night.

Too bad. I really wanted Louiville if we had gone to 14.
