Oh I see. I always heard that the original SEC were easier for recruits to get in but thought that was just trash talk
Yeah. He won't qualify academically. He has a lot of work to do in the classroom. Auburn might be willing to take his signature but A&M is not going to waste a spot on a kid that won't make it in.

Another name to look out for when Junior Days and spring practice rolls around is 2014 DT Zaycoven Henderson of Longview:

Saw this guy as a "scout look" for '14 on 24/7. My computer is browsing very slow at the moment, so I have only watched the first few highlights, but his first run (second highlight) could very well be the best HS run I've ever seen!

His name is Racean Thomas and he seems to be Alabamas to lose, nonetheless you guys should see that run!
Finals Rivals250. You'll notice the two biggest jumps are DT Andrew Billings now at #168 overall and OG Rami Hammad at #172 overall. QB Tyrone Swoopes is no longer listed:

Crazy they have Mike Mitc as top player in Texas and a 5-star that has offers from every school yet Texas never recruited him. Wonder what story was there.
IIRC, our staff was not sold on his overall athleticism/flexibility to stay at LB...the position that he is supposedly
set on playing in college.
WOW!! I love the music, etc with his highlights... but I'm an even bigger fan of how this kid runs with the football.
Thanks, Bloeddyr!
OL Rami Hammad is announcing at 5 p.m. tomorrow. Down to Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.
OrangeBloods saying that RB Peyton Barber of Alpharetta, GA will not be visiting Austin this week and UT is pretty much out of the picture.
Per 24/7, Larry Porter stopped by Alief Taylor today to see 2014 WR Keenen Brown and 2014 CB Chris Hardeman (committed to LSU). He was able to watch some film of RB Trevorris Johnson while at the school and supposedly like what he saw. Johnson is a TCU verbal but says he's open to taking visits. He's a guy to keep in mind as Texas continues to look for a RB in the 2013 class.

Dixon's teammate, OL Ty Barrett, says he plans on attending the first Junior Day as well. Barrett's mother and Bruce Chambers have known each other for many years.

This kid needs to be a punt returner, he makes people miss in a short area

According to Inside Texas, Darrell Wyatt is headed to the West Coast on Thursday to see JUCO WR Ronald Butler of Contra Costa CC in San Pablo, CA. This is the teammate of JUCO OL Desmond Harrison. After the initial meeting in California, Butler is supposed to fly to Austin this weekend to see the UT campus.

24/7 reporting another Junior Day invite is out. 2014 DT Cedric Johnson of Rowlett says he will be in attendance but he's not sure if he'll be in town on the 10th or the 23rd.

Texas has offered RB Ezekiel Elliott of St. Louis, MO, per 24/7. He's been committed to Ohio State since April so this is a longshot, but he's supposed to speak with the staff today.

This seems more of a strategy to get Wilson than actually going after Wilson. I can see a conversation going on like this: Porter: Elliott, we want you at Texas. You would be our only back for the class. Elliott: Thanks but Im solid to OSU. Im their priority. Porter: Doesnt look like it, Coach Meyer is also going after another RB named Dontre Wilson. Are you sure that you are a priority? Elliott: You're right coach, youve opened my eyes. I will have to talk to coach Meyer. Elliott to Meyer: Coach, I feel like I am not a priority to this team anymore. Texas is looking at me and Im going to take a visit and open my recruitment since you are now taking multiple RBs. Coach Meyer: No, thats not necessary. We were just looking around but we have decided to just stick with you and make you our main priority. Elliott: Thanks coach for clearing things out. Im solid to OSU and wont look around. Coach Meyer to Dontre Wilson: We have decided to just stick with one RB in our class. We have no room for you. Wilson: ok, thanks coach. Wilson to Porter: Coach, OSU is not looking at me anymore. I guess that you are my second best option. Im committing to you. lol. that would be the dream scenario right there. of course, im just dreaming.

The approach definitely makes sense by playing the two prospects against each other and it wouldn't surprise me if it's Porter's idea. Texas offers this Elliott kid two days before Wilson is supposed to officially visit Ohio State. I don't think it's a coincidence.
did that make any sense?? its not showing in my computer the way I typed it. strange.
I got the gist of it. This looks like a move that's more about Wilson rather than trying to steal Ohio State's RB. I think Texas is trying to keep Wilson from visiting Columbus this weekend.
Good question. 24/7 mentioned this morning that if Texas goes with a second QB for 2013, "it's Hill or bust."
******
Elliott
There it is.
Spell Elliott with two Ts or the forum police kick in.
Has something to do with the Spurs board.
