    Let me make it easier for you to understand, amigo...

    If you had a time coyote to smuggle you back to before the time MJ won his first ring, Phil would not be the best coach in the league, and no one at that time had any notion that he might be. So you cannot FFWD and say "MJ had the best coach in the league" when Phil is considered that because of what MJ did, not because of what Phil did with Tex Winters system.

    ^ Maaaaaaaaad at my post. Colin mentioned Rodman (best rebounder) and Kerr (best shooter). Who's to say he wasn't using their body of work retroactively? Paxon was part of the 1st 3peat; Kerr was part of the 2nd 3peat. Phil having two 3peats at that time puts him as GOAT coach already in my book - even without his Laker success. -20 points son.
