I want a Holga, and several of Lomo's cheap, fun cameras, but didn't post them in this thread since they're considerably more attainable than the $1,700+ monster in that picture.

Also, Freestyle is your friend. I've been loving their prices lately. I bought a box of 50 sheets of black & white 4x5 film there for $24. It's Arista, which is their in-house brand (it's repackaged film from various other companies), and it's a little grainy but not horrible. They've got a ton of choices for 120 film, both color and black & white, though.

It has nothing to do with anger. In fact, I view Earth's current population/level of resources through the cold and sterile lens of mathematics. There are FAR too many people who are consuming far too much and that's really all there is to it. Bring on the nukes, bring on social engineering, it doesn't really matter how, there just needs to be less of us. It has nothing to do with rage- just simple facts, compassion for the planet and its would-be remaining inhabitants.

It's quite ironic that you'd state this (which I agree with), but then advocate nuclear weapons as a solution. Nukes are the one thing that could destroy the planet's living systems (on which we are utterly reliant - something that seems to escape most people) entirely... not really the best way to reduce the human population to a sustainable level! Cutting off nose to spite face!

I'd just advocate slowing down and allowing only 1 child per couple, or every female only being allowed to have one kid regardless. Killing people off is a little extreme, although sadly you're right about the numbers. We are going to eventually overpopulate ourselves to death and cause widespread death and suffering eventually.

Eventually? It is already happening. The corn to ethanol move in the US tipped about 1/2 a billion people into starvation. 7 billion is far beyond the carrying capacity of the planet unless we all accept a drastically lower standard of living, which not going to happen.

Don't worry, once a variant of Bird flu (H5N1), which has a 59% mortality rate (!) (vs H1N1 swine flu, mortality rate of about 0.1%) mutates and can be transmitted from person to person the human population of the planet will crash. It'll be horrific beyond all imagining, but in terms of the long-term survival of human civilisation, it may be a good thing.
