Got it in the post this morning, can't wait to get back.
Looks like everyone will be selling the kinect bundle for 199.99 on black friday.
Got it in the post this morning, can't wait to get back.
man gotta get my hands on this thing
Please hurry up.... uncharted 3 sucks.
I refuse to play this game on a console and I'm going to hold out until I upgrade my computer. I don't think I've felt that way before for any of the current gen games.
I thought about this but I rather play it on my couch on a 50" than on a stupid desk chair and 27"
I'll be grabbing this tonight at midnight. Hope it is as great as it should be.
Grabbing this at midnight too...thinking of makin an argonian or khajit thief
You can hook up your pc to your 50" and you can also use a controller.
sure. but IMO not worth the effort for the minimal graphics improvement
No more of the same, boring voices every time..
Bethesda employed over seventy voice actors to record the voices of NPCs in the game; the total number of lines recorded for NPCs is over 60,000. The cast includes Christopher Plummer, Max von Sydow, Joan Allen, Lynda Carter, Claudia Christian and Michael Hogan.
Voices are nice... graphics much better than Oblivion (which I have been playing recently). I'm just 15 mins into the game and already saw the first dragon (can't avoid it). Duel wielding is pretty awesome, tbh.
Hate to be the breaker of bad news man, but both reviews I've read so far state pretty clearly that the console versions (again) spend a good portion of their time loading.
OTOH, the PC version's graphics are said to be high end enough that at highest settings, mostly everyone will be spending some time loading. Plus the extra draw capabilities (or w/e) that allow you to see huge distances make it so that basically whatever you got, the engine will push (unless you're DR ).
Actually, loading was long before the intro, but so far, it hasn't been much of an issue. I did install it on the HD though
Thats not a lot of memory in that bundle if you want to save a lot.
True, but it's enough for a profile + savegames. And the reality is that I was looking at Black Friday deals, and BJ Wholesale is going to be selling 16GB USB memory stick for $20. If you only play one or two games at a time, get a couple of those and you end up with a cheaper + faster storage than an official HD.
I am a notoriously slow gamer when it come to RPGs. Ive been playing for 3 hours and I havent left Riverwood yet.
This game is, so far, billy badass.
I know I pimp my box here, or whatever, but I must say...this is one of the most gorgeous games I have ever laid eyes on. Ive got everything at absolute max settings, even draw distance for every object, and I havent dipped below 30fps. I max at 60fps (didnt see vsync in options), which is about where the game stays normally...until I go outside and look at the mountains. Instant dip with the outrageous draw distance.
Butterflies on the horizon...so authentic and beautiful.
what are your specs bro?
and I mean your computer
Well, Im 31, tall...
Oh...and I mean your computer
i7 965 XE (OCed and water cooled)
12GB Crucial DDR3
(1) EVGA GTX580
(1) Zotac GTX295 (PhysX only)
(2) Samsung 256 SSD (one for OS and proggies, other for Games)
(1) WD 1TB
1200W PSU
Win 7 Ultimate
The system crushes this game even at 1920 x 1200. I left all draw distances at max, but I turned down shadows from Ultra(?) to High(?) (whatever the top is, to the next one down...some settings only go to High). I'd rather keep the draw distances at max and tone down shadows. I could do either, but I prefer view distance (no grass pop-in, people pop-in, object pop-in...everything is loaded far enough away that you cant tell when it popped in.
Hasnt dipped below 50fps, even outside looking about. Inside, no matter what is going on (fire, fighting, shadow-play...all at the same time) its a steady 60fps with no drop.

I am so going to get for that post. Rightfully so, I guess. Just remember...someone asked.
I took some screenshots but Photobucket has a resolution limit, apparently. Cannot upload 1920x1200 pics. Well, you can, but they get down-converted to (iirc) 720p.
So, it, I made one bad-ass pic of my LVL1 dude standing on a mountain during the sunset overlooking a river my background. Just need to figure out how to turn of UI and I'd be all set.

damn that would be a nice GPU for my 27 incher
and I mean my monitor
Found out how to turn off Vsync via the .ini files.
Why that was not an option in the settings, I'll never know.
well I found some screenshots with Full everything:

looks like PS3 vs. 360 graphically is essentially the same. Little gamma correction will make PS3 look as good as 360
