Sources: Orlando Magic declining option on Ben Gordon's contract

The Orlando Magic are declining the $4.5 million team option for 2015-'16 on guard Ben Gordon’s contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Gordon will become an unrestricted free agent.

Passing on Gordon’s option will give the Magic $14.5 million in salary cap space for free agency. Gordon, 32, averaged 6.2 points a game for the Magic last season.

He signed a two-year, $9 million free agent deal with Orlando last July. In 11 NBA seasons with Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte and Orlando, Gordon has averaged nearly 15 points per game.

Paul Pierce Opts Out Of $5.5M Deal For Next Season
Paul Pierce opted out of his player option with the Wizards on Saturday.

Tobias Harris To Pursue Near Max Deal With Pistons, Celtics Among Leading Suitors

As Orlando restricted free agent Tobias Harris will pursue a maximum-level offer sheet on July 1 that the Magic possibly won’t match, the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics have emerged as leading candidates for the talented forward, league sources told RealGM.

While the Lakers have already been linked to LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Love, current Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol is set to enter free agency as well. However, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times shares Gasol has no interest in signing with Los Angeles:
Marc Gasol has no interest in the Lakers because of the uneasy last few years his brother spent with them, according to numerous people familiar with the situation.

Is this a joke? Of course LA would trade Russell for Cousins. If they weren't willing to trade Russell, they wouldn't have offered the 2nd pick in the draft

So now that they have Russell (whom they were always guaranteed to get) he somehow becomes more valuable? I have no idea what is going on in this damn world anymore.

An under the radar free agent will be Dallas' Al-Faroqu Aminu. Sked to visit NYK, BOS, POR, TOR & NOP, w/Mavs still in mix.

I thought he was always expected to opt out so he can re-sign another two year deal that lines up with the huge cap increase.

Butler is done, just like Josh Howard was when we were "supposedly" interested in him.

Maybe Butler can replace Leonard and Green like some thought he would the last time they were interested.
