You mean like the lob to Vassell? So that was there because Collins and Devin communicated it before the cut. A similar thing happened when Wemby got his lob off that Robinson spin move. A while back I made a post going into how teams like the Lob City Clippers and Chandler Knicks did to get their oop passes. Basically you need the receiver to coordinate with the passer to sync up their actions and create a window. A big who goes too early is going to be covered back up by the time the pass gets there. That's why a guy like Robinson hung out in the dunker spot then made his move at the right time to get the ball rather than just demanding it all the time (especially when he was young) Off-ball movement in the paint requires timing because of three-seconds calls. They can literally communicate the action like Collins and Vassell and Vassell and Wemby did or they can have a refined enough offense to where certain actions are keyed based on the defense. What you don't usually see is a big manufacture a lob in a set offense. That's true for the role-players who are normally the recipents of lobs and the star bigs who had them as part of their offense.
I hope people realize now that the Spurs players actually do know how to throw the pass though. It's funny that instead of wondering if there was anything different about these successful lobs versus the lobs that aren't being thrown to Wemby, folks are still trying to dig deeper into conspiracy. Wemby is raw. A lot of things he does on the court are wrong. That's completely normal. What's unhealthy for him is to pretend that he's a vet superstar who doesn't need coaching and structure to grow within. He needs to be put into good positions and develop reliable offense before trying to defer to him on all this stuff. It's like how most rookie QBs aren't calling their own plays or even their own audibles/protection shifts.

There's no way these guys beat Detroit. Cade might go for 60+ and Bojan Bogdanovic is a notorious Spurs Killer (who isn't these days I guess).
For one, he wasn't injured... He wanted to play, but Pop kept him out as a precaution... Secondly, let's not pretend as if Pop has t been doing this all season
I think ppl simply watch Jones' height and assume he is bad on defense when it's not the case... Dude was DPOY in college... Sohan gets washed on D all the time, but because he is tall, it doesn't register to people how bad he actually is...
