Lets try to predict the starting lineups and give an idea of their strenght/weaknesses:
Germany:
Starters:
---------------------------Miroslav Klose---------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Lukas Podolski---------------Mesut Özil---------------Thomas Müller
-------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------Sami Khedira-----------Bastian Schweinsteiger--------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Philipp Lahm---Holger Badstuber---Per Mertesacker---Jérôme Boateng
-------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Manuel Neuer---------------------------
Primary Subs:
Forwards: Mario Gómez + Marco Reus (more like a Counter Forward)
Midfielder: Mario Götze + Toni Kroos
Defense: Mats Hummels
may get no playing time at all:
Andre Schürrle
Ilkay Gundogan
Lars Bender
Marcel Schmelzer
Benedikt Howedes
Tim Wiese
Ron-Robert Zieler
Strenght: A lot of talent in terms of playmaking on the midfield positions. They might play more offensive than the lineup might suggest with either Schweinsteiger/Khedira attacking more or one of them beeing replaced by Kroos/Götze who are more offensiv anyway. Probably all midfielders but Podolski (which should stay at the left lane) are very versatile and can change positions a lot. After all they are a little like a poor mans Spain/Barca which isn't a bad thing.
Weakness: The defense can't keep up to the level the offense sets. There just are not that many top notch players, with Lahm and Neuer beeing the only real standouts. Look for some bad mistakes especially with the Center Backs!
Biggest Question: Can the midfield generate enough ball control to hide the challenged defense?
Prediction:
As I wrote before, I don't think the preparation was good (not counting the friendly vs. Switzerland) and a letdown year is due (each team has it once every few big tournaments). I think they will get kicked out early, probably loosing the first game vs. Portugal and never putting it together after that.
There must be a better German CB than Mertersacker. He's looked awful last season.
There is, Hummels. He should start alongside Badstuber.
Marcel Schmelzer is my hero. Hope he gets some minutes.

I agree, but I believe the german gamemanager Löws will favour Mertesacker coz he has been there done ...um...done something.
Hopefully Hummels will get playing time.
I just hope Badstuber won't play much, he is god afwul!
Wait
No Soldado for Spain ?
FAIL
Yeah that's bull . Still, that squad is so stacked, they could put 2 full contending teams out there
Frank Lampard ruled out of England's Euro 2012 squad
Frank Lampard is out of England's Euro 2012 campaign with a thigh injury suffered in training on Wednesday.
The news was confirmed after the Chelsea midfielder, 33, was examined by medical staff after a scan.
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson will be called into the squad, subject to agreement from Uefa's medical team.
"It's a huge blow for the team, especially coming after the loss of another senior player in Gareth Barry," said manager Roy Hodgson.
"The fact that the doctor cannot guarantee Frank could take part in any of the group matches means we have to replace him in the central midfield area.
"Apart from it being a huge blow to me and the team, I'm especially disappointed for Frank himself," he added.
"He has been in very good form and was looking forward to the tournament. He made a huge contribution towards us qualifying for the Euros so it is cruel to be forced out through injury just before the tournament."
Chelsea's Lampard is one of the most experienced players Hodgson had to call upon, with 90 caps.
BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty believes Lampard's absence will be a big loss to the squad.
"Frank Lampard has occasionally been a maligned figure for England - but his loss from the Euro 2012 squad will be a heavy blow for manager Roy Hodgson," he said.
"Lampard has maturity, experience and continues to be a winner as proved by his vital role in Chelsea's Champions League and FA Cup victories.
"He may not have started England's first Euro 2012 game against France but his presence and professionalism around the squad is always beneficial and he would have been determined to force his way into the side."
Manager Roy Hodgson is already without another experienced midfielder in Barry, who was ruled out of the tournament after suffering a groin injury in the 1-0 win over Norway.
If Henderson, 21, is allowed to replace Lampard then Liverpool will be the most represented club in Hodgson's squad, with five, despite a disappointing season which saw them eighth in the Premier League.
Lampard
Now Cahill will miss Euro 2012 too
And dont forget Rooney is suspended for the first 2 games
England = fckd
Yeah, I saw that push on Cahill. I think he broke his jaw.
our bench is going to be Jordan Henderson and Andy Carrll.
