I mean, you'll have a very hard time to deny this .. it asked for equal rights for droids, it mentioned social injustice multiple times, it freed everyone not just droid, it has a large "ass" compared to the rest of the body, speaks in a blatantly stereotypical black woman way..
The old EU barely engaged with droid rights for a good reason.
L3 was voiced by a white Brit. She sounded nothing like a stereotypical black woman.

I mean I kind of know what you might be getting at with the class / Del Toro comment. The casino scene in TLJ? I guess I never thought of the "elite ruling class oblivious to the struggles of the common man" narrative as an exclusively progressive one. Certainly wasn't when Donald Trump used it to great effect.
