Fair enough but the movie was still undeniably entertaining, and Godzilla would have been more entertaining with an earlier monster fight.
Pacific Rim was good but also movie idiocracy at it's finest. Also, the main characters all sucked, the comic relief were the only interesting guys in the movie. And the dialogue was mostly corny cliches (i understand this was probably intentional on Del Toro's part but that doesn't make it suck less)

don't know what people are complaining about, movie was well done. any more monster-army scenes would have just been overkill at that point
Saw it yesterday. Pretty damn good. The acting and characters are a step above the usual disaster/monster movie heroes, though that's not saying much. I didn't spend the movie actively rooting against them the way in did when I finally got around to seeing Transformers at least. The big fight at the end is worth the price of admission on its own. It's the exact sort of film that you have to see on the big screen.
Let's see if that got OP in the other thread bumps it again at a lame attempt at humor
You're a big fan of monsters/sci-fi yet you don't like Godzilla AND you actually know about Rodan? It's the tiest monster of all
Are you gots so stupid you don't realize you're posting in a joke thread that op had to bump himself?
yes, Dinosaurs sucked. Don't you have a casting couch victim you should be googling for dead cheerleader poses?
One thing I really like was the editing that allowed you to follow the monsters and shots in an almost panoramic view. Much better than the cheap, quick edits where you can't really tell what is happening that are in vogue in action movies now. Transformers and to a lesser extent Pacific Rim were just a series of explosions. Godzilla, for me, was much better.
I saw it yesterday at the IMAX. I thought it was pretty sick. Like I said in the other thread, there was plenty of Godzilla, not sure what the writer of the review I read was expecting. Even my gf liked it, that's saying something for her.
people thinking Godzilla will be getting 90 minutes of facetime
Saw it yesterday at the BFI IMAX in London. Largest IMAX screen in Europe and was not disappointed. I expected a Godzilla movie and I got a Godzilla movie. It wasn't the Cannes Film Festival for Christ's sake...
For some, I'm sure it will be good.
But I'll take a pass on it, thank you very much.
Glad you liked it though.
Anyone catch the trailer for the new Godzilla movie?
really miss these insightful posts
Godzilla gonna fight a demogorgon in this one
looking forward to it, tbh. first one was pretty good. my understanding is the next one will be a king kong/godzilla crossover. skull island was not as good as godzilla, but was still solid imo
11, Lorraine Warren, Saito, Tywin Lannister, and the guy from Silicon Valley lol. I'm so ready.
looks like it'll be a lot of fun. i do hope they're able to make it more than just a mind-numbing popcorn action flick though. given the cast, i have high hopes though.
