That seriously reminded me of NFL WRs who do their touchdown celebration after scoring but their team is down by 3 touchdowns with 2 minutes left in the game.

Well, Portugal can beat Uruguay; but if Pepe kept his damn hand down they'd be facing an arguably more beatable Russia.

Yea, Portugal gonna get the likes of Uruguay, Brazil, France on their side of the bracket probably. Not a win for them.

What I'm seeing; it might keep them on the other side of the bracket away from Brazil and France. Portugal may better off taking their chances with Germany, England, Switzerland, etc if they make a deep run.
Portugal finished on Brazil, France (and probably Germany and Argentina) side.

It needed to happen in the quarterfinal with both teams winning their group and then beating the likes of Russia / Denmark or whomever. Now it looks like it'll only happen in a semi after putting down Belgium/England, Brazil, France, and Uruguay. What's the chances? 1.3 percent?

Spain isn't scaring anyone with what they have shown so far. I would argue Portugal are a trickier knockout stage team (better defense, better keeper, and they have Big Naldo to clutch out a typical 1-0)..

Spain's luck was unreal. They have looked underwhelming yet they will get a cake walk to the final.
