I also think you're oversimplifying a universal background check to make it seem bad. But I did ask for your narrative -- I just think it's faulty. Like a lot of your narratives.
You act as if you're familiar with universal background checks so that you know they are good things. I think only FFLs should be able to buy and sell guns. You cannot regulate the universal background check because there is no record of the firearm ergo no record of it changing hands. Only those who are familiar with the law and afraid they might get caught would bother. Otherwise it's don't ask, don't tell.
