Nothing to see here. We all know how this will play out. The next time we see Pop he will be wearing a big white band-aid somewhere on his face. Dude has some skin issues going on.
That's what i would've said if i didn't want to make the players worried

game's leading scorer
I believe his quote meant that he would not call plays ONLY for manu, meaning he will call plays for everyone, including manu? Coz he was manu's coach once and he doesn't want to show bias or he is too used to calling plays for manu already. I dun think it was in the pop's joking way that he was saying it
Also, pop is just managing his minutes for the playoffs tbh. Probably went on a holiday because of the 3 days off
Good call
Take this 28 for yourself.
This 28 are for you too!
Glad I got proven wrong
So anyone hear anything about what happened to Pop?
Only thing I read is Messina saying it's "not serious". Apparently he's going to miss the Friday game too.
Yes, it is reported he'll miss Sacramento game too.
I do not know if this is related, but Pop recently had a hip replacement surgery done over the summer, maybe this is just a one series of check-up and then extended rest.
I hope he can resume his coaching duty when the Spurs play against Memphis
CIA Messina
The only one to get smashed is you, and maybe TGY. gots.
Of course we don't know how serious Pop's minor medical procedure" was, but generally that phrase refers to something that is not very limiting to a person's regular employment and can be scheduled around his normal activities.
I think this was just Pop giving one of his coaches a chance to take the reins against a team that we could expect to beat. Pop does this every year with his assistants; he has some 'minor medical procedure' and lets his assistant get some game time experience just in case Pop gets thrown out of a game or gets really sick.
In addition, it is both a courtesy and a chance to reward them for hard work in the background while giving them some legitimacy around the league in case some team comes calling for a head coach. It's also one of the reasons his coaching staff loves the guy. He treats them with respect. Plus he and Etttore have developed a friendship that goes beyond coaching over the years with Pop traveling to Europe all the time.
I bet we see Becky coaching a game before the year is out.
Umm, no, I don't think we will. That would be a slap in the face to all the people that have seniority on the coaching staff. Just letting a rookie NBA coach be the head coach for an NBA game for the heck of it, I don't think so.
Uh, Pop just jumped Messina over top assistant Boylen. Not sure he's giving a about pecking order.
One thing Pop has had done in the past is removal of pre-cancerous skin lesions. Not serious, but he's had bandages stuck to his face and neck. Could be something as simple as that.
I thought Messina did a decent job last night, though he missed the really easy adjustment of putting Leonard on Copeland and playing small. There was no one else that needed Kawhi's attention, and he's plenty big enough to guard Cope.
I thought Messina was brought in to be the top assistant.
Colonoscopy tbh
Pop setting a trend now of resting head coaches
One thing I will give Messina, he didn't risk the game by going with any Daye minutes. Only Pop in his arrogance, thinks he can play Daye as much as he does and still win the game.
