They could, their defense is legit, but MSU has not faced an offense like Ohio State all year. Should be a good game as far as strength vs strength.
I think they will get to 8 eventually, but 4 is at least a start in the right direction.

I think 8 is too much. I don't think 2 loss teams should routinely get a chance to play for the le. I'm actually cool with the current system even though teams like Notre Dame or this year's Ohio State shouldn't get a le shot.
Why not, if they earn their way there through a fair playoff system? Enough of the beauty-contest/resume bull , only fair way is to decide it all on the field, tbh....
Takes away from the regular season which is why college football is so popular. Every game is like a playoff game. With an 8 team playoff, you lose that. If they do go with an 8 team playoff, then the top seeds should have homefield advantage in the 1st round.
dude having to go back 25 years ago to 1988 and brag about a 3 point win!
okay son ... sure the sun shined on their ass that one time.
Imho, the bowl system already takes away from the regular season with such an anti-climactic ending, tbh.... yes, there's been plenty of great individual bowl games over the years, but finishing off the season with a bunch of exhibition games kinda sucks.... an 8-game playoff would add even more excitement....
That line of bull was disproven when Bama managed to lose to LSU at home, not even play for their conference le, and STILL get to play for the national championship....Every game is like a playoff game.
I say 6. 8 is too many, tbh
I'd be cool with 12, tbh.
make it lucky number 7 teams and give the #1 team a bye.
That's why I said 6. 2 teams get a bye, while the other four play in two of the old-school bowl games. (Orange/Fiesta.) Semifinals would be Rose/Sugar. Final would be the BCSNC
Gotta be happy for Mizzou, tbh. Gonna be a great SECCG
It's what sucks about the current system and conference le games.
If Auburn and Ohio State both lose, does Bama move into the le game?
our conference is awesome whoop whoop
Thankfully, this is the last year of this bull . From now on, somebody is gonna hafta win 2 games to claim it all... Let's all hope that format expands when deserving teams are inevitably left out
Glad that so many others could share in the demise of Bama. Auburn won this game for America, imho.
'Murrica, Yeah!
No Missouri would get in over Bama. Bama needs Florida St and Ohio State to lose. They needed Missouri to lose tonight.
The game in 1988 is as relevant as those games in 2006 and '07, so why not? I mean, as long as we're talking about old that doesn't matter.
I don't think Ohio State is as good or Alabama or Florida State either, but who wants to hear it from an LSU fan? What is it for you this year, the Chick-fil-a Bowl again?
FWIW I think Ohio State can score on any team in the country, including Alabama and Florida State. I'm not sure they can stop anybody, though. If Michigan can put up 600 yards on this defense I can't even calculate what FSU might do.
If OSU does get to the le game they might need 50 points to win it, imho.
LSU owns Ohio State son. that ass is still sore from the BCS le game beat down that Ohio State had no business playing in.
Ohio State doesn't have the best offense in the country. It's very good in general and they scored 31 on Wisconsin which is not easy, but they wouldn't put up 30 on FSU or Bama.
