Hugh "The King" McElhenny (Niners) was a Cali State hurdles champion in HS. He had black speed and agility, a fantastic runner. He was the best pure runner among white RB's.
"Jaguar" Jon Arnett out of USC was an amzing runner, he had speed, quicks and that elusveness. Played with the Rams.
Houston's ie Post (Chargers) lead the AFL in rushing. He was super quick and had that burst.
We can't count Red Grange The Galloping Ghost because he never faced any black athletes.
Craig James SMU could motor.
Billy Cannon LSU had a good season with the Oilers. A Heisman winner.
Mike Alstott, Larry Csonka, Jim Taylor and John Riggins were power backs.
Paul Horung and Frank Gifford multi talented cats.
McElhenny, Grange, Csonka, Taylor and Riggins, all in te HOF.
McCaffrey the closest thing to McElhenny we've seen. He's not as elusive but a better receiver.
I;m thinking the Browns Peyton Hillis the last white RB to have a 1000 yard season.
