Fck.
He said he was supposed to play in the summer league, I'm not sure if that was mistranslated, but wow, this awful news.
That's not supposed to be comforting, is it?
Don't really care for this next season. He won't help us then anyway - have plenty of cap room to sign more useful pieces. Assuming our first rounder joins the team, Diaw/Mills opt-in, and Splitter/Ginobili cost about $13 million combined, we will have $3 million to play with if Bonner stays or $6 million to play with if Bonner is cut UNDER the cap for 12-13 players. Given Splitter is restricted, it's very hard for other teams to put in an offer sheet on him to tie up cap space for 72 hours (similar to Pekovic). I think more than likely, the Spurs will come to terms on a long-term deal with him.
Then there is the full mid-level exception. They can even trade to take on some salary instead of using the money in free agency (theoretically you could send Nando + first rounder to Dallas for their first + Vince Carter, saves them $2.4 million and Cuban can dream of signing Howard with that extra cash only to see it go to waste). Plenty of money to fill & even upgrade missing pieces vacated by Neal + Blair + Bonner (?) departing.
So on Bertrans, I don't see him contributing next year anyway, so let him heal and then find a place for him here when the rebuild actually begins in 2 years post-Duncan.
Dammit! The idea of bringin over some of our overseas guys made me feel better about the future and Bertans definitely was the most intriguing. As chump said, fix him over here
What do you mean, sign him and let him do like a redshirt rehab year over here?
Fix and rehab here.
No, just take care of him medically like the Spurs have other foreign draftees. No need to sign him yet.
ewww! now he has 2 problems
get bulked up
ACL
Well I guess it's safe to say we'll probably never see him in a Spurs jersey. Poor guy he's turning into an international Derrick Rose.

Terrible news for him.
Sucks. Really thought we might see him in the NBA.
eh, we don't need him until possibly training camp. Thats close to a possible time table for recovery, the article just says Acl and the video did not look that bad.
So much for his NBA dreams.. Poor kid. More Bonner I guess...
His body type is just strange, probably makes him injury prone. His legs are just too long for his body, like a stork or flamingo or the like. Bound to have issues.
Terrible news.
That's a shame. Doubt he ever sees the NBA.
What's the deal with Livio Jean-Charles? How has he recovered from his torn ACL?
Sounds like he's another French bust like Mahinmi and DeColo:

Maybe its time to stop the draft-and-stash.
draft American players or just trade the pick for future pick
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They have been drafting Americans in the 1st round. 2nd Round draft-and-stashs aren't really a big deal imo.
08-GHill
10-James Anderson
11-Kawhi, CoJo
13-Jean-Charles
14-Kyle Anderson
