Of course it had to be GOATnaldo the one to provide top tier entertainment and the best game of the compe ion so far, among all these poverty 1-0 and 1-1 results.

    The GOAT single-handedly saving povertyball.

    Boiled down:

    3-3
    1-0
    1-1
    1-1
    1-0

Only one of those games had both teams score more than once, and even that one ended in a tie. No wonder povertyball fans have to reach for storylines to make their trash "sport" sound entertaining, since the actual games are not.

American sports fans showing their superior taste. The US Open beat ALL World Cup matches yesterday, including the Germany vs. Mexico match (which was the 2nd most important thing in Mexican history behind beating the French in Puebla ).

Germany vs. Mexico did a 3.18

That Spain v. Portugal game was entertaining. The Mexico win was pretty cool too. Not sure why supporters of baseball criticize 1-0 games when they illate whenever there's a 1-0 pitching duel. There's a uniqueness in any sport. Seeing those Icelanders get a draw was pretty cool considering that the city I grew up has almost 150k more people in it than the land of Sigur Ros and Bjork.

I'm only a fan of pitching duels once in a while. I prefer higher scoring games in general. 5-4, 8-6, etc. I agree every sport has its own character. My problems with soccer aren't necessarily because it's low scoring. Until they address diving and penalty shoot-outs, count me out.

Messicans were supposed to make this a huge sport. That's all I keep hearing. They were causing earthquakes in Mexico but here the match couldn't beat golf.

    stealth soccer fan.

not a soccer fan at all. mainly tune in for world cup and sometimes euro or champions league. its a boring sport tbh. i follow baseball way closer than i follow soccer. dont watch either on tv until big tournaments/playoffs, though.

but using US ratings for a tournament the US isn't participating in is re ed, mid.

also wtf ... its a big deal in mexico therefore US ratings should be good?
