Pirates need their sleep too.
Servers located in US
okay so they got the US servers but couldn't they just set up camp in another country? like for instance china, where 99% of all software is pirated, i don't think they'd give a ..
I don't think I ever opined about their right to gripe to Congress. I don't see anybody in this thread or the other thread that voiced such concern.
Where's this "public opinion" that they have no right to gripe to Congress?
A gripe in 1982 is still a gripe. And at that time it was unnecessary and overblown. I'm pretty sure Chris Dodd is still doing it. Time will tell if it's a legitimate gripe or not.
I agree Valenti was a master of hyperbole
Your question:
My response:
Notice it was you that dragged both "Legal" and "Congress" into this.
You didn't post about their right to gripe to Congress? You need a quote?
eh, I need a dictionary.
After two days of him getting crapped on, ElNono finally got one over on me.
Of course, I said "public opinion appears to be....", the key word being appears, but if it means that much to you, I will start a thread for to get the public opinion of this board to at least get a sample size of some kind.
My guess though is that you really don't care what the public opinion is and are still just trying to troll to save some face.
Not trolling, IMO (maybe a bit, but you can't play saint here either)
Blake, I enjoy we can have our discussions. We have had a lot of agreements and disagreements. I've been wrong in some of these arguments with you before and I had no problem admitting that either (or even linking to that).
I still think people learn from this stuff, right or wrong.
Blake you must be a Hit at parties! I bet you even ask girls for the ID's before you call they're parents. I bet your that Neighbor that calls the housing authority if you see a boat in the driveway or a Bush that needs trimming.
Your that vato crawling in the dark on his belly using night vision goggles to see if your neighbor is watering his plants.

The US has an extradition treaty with New Zealand.
The next dead person I hear griping about something will be the first.
My original statement regarding "right to gripe" was me reading into what posters here and on the internets have been saying regarding these companies.Notice it was you that dragged both "Legal" and "Congress" into this.
You didn't post about their right to gripe to Congress? You need a quote?
I have heard this line and I'm sure you have to that goes something like: "The companies ways of doing business are old and outdated. They need to be the ones to keep up with the technology instead of Congress being forced to make new laws criminalizing such downloading."
As in "why are they griping?"
which I said in a more direct way as "they don't have the right to gripe".
much like a mom would tell her kid "why you cryin? you have no right to cry"
I know you have had troubles keeping up with these difficult phrases I've thrown out, but it's really no problem for me to clarify. Just ask.
Lamar Smith is lucky he didn't pass the law that would shut down his own website! Busted!

Blake doesn't get it.
We are not saying artist and copyright owners don't deserve to get ripped off. We feel for them.
What we are saying as Free American's we really don't want anyone telling us what we can or can't find free online and share with others.
They always griped. The fact that there's two bills in front of Congress to vote on I think it's a clear indicator that griping didn't end with Jack Valenti.
I've read similar comments. That's not the conclusion that I draw from them though. I think they can gripe all they want, but at some point they're going to have to see if the massive piracy you see today is entirely due to poor enforcement or if there are other reasons as well, like a disconnect between what their offerings are vs what the market wants. IMO, you can't pretend that poor format selection, ty pricing, lack of demo software, draconian terms, etc have no impact on consumer's decision to pirate. I think it's a valid point that doesn't mean they can't gripe.
Obviously, you're certainly en led to your own reading of such statements.
tbh, I've never heard a mom tell their kids "you have no right to cry"
lol you have no right to cry!
lol moms
they leaned on them as an ally, and New Zealand complied.
edit: nm, it was said better.
We are talking about unnecessary griping.
It's crystal clear.
lmao dead man's unnecessary griping
You have the same en lement to your mis-reading of my statements.Obviously, you're certainly en led to your own reading of such statements.
no wonder the analogy flew over your face.tbh, I've never heard a mom tell their kids "you have no right to cry"
lol you have no right to cry!
lol moms
Sorry.
No, I get what you are saying.
My statement:
lol problem with difficult phrases
lol made mom analogies
