    P.S.

Jamison Brewer is the worst basketball player I ever saw.

Probably. They could cut Wilks, but he's been there a while and knows the system.

What's your opinion on the trade? And what's your job? I think I read that you're a sportswriter, but I'm new and clueless.

What's not to like about Brewer?

He's 6'4" and has a lifetime free throw percentage of .393!

That's got to be an NBA all-time record low for a guard.

    Yes!

I hate to see Malik go but Nazr is long and capable of playing effective defense in the system. He can put up some nice numbers and has worked hard as of late to improve on the block.

I like Wilks behind Tony and Beno. The Spurs will miss Malik energy wise when he is right but they now have some length to play with.

Um, why? He said they probably wouldn't do a deal, but that they were talking to as many teams as anyone. He probably didn't think that Isaiah would take the bait again.

    CIA.

I really like this trade for several reasons.

My first; Malik's contract was too much and now when the Spurs are trying to save some money after the signing of both Parker and Manu, it gives the Spurs more cap flexability. Brewer's contract is up after this season and Nazr has only one more year left, not three years like Malik.

Secondly; Nazr's size is great. He's got bulk and length. Malik had bulk but he didn't have length. Also Nazr has some shot blocking skills, Rose never had that. I haven't seen too much of Nazr this season so I can't really say if he's got a good jumpshot like Rose has, but if Nazr's touch is similar to what I've seen of him, I'm going to be happy.

And lastly; Now that the Heat are going to sign Zo, Nazr is going to be vital for us. He's basically the same size as Zo and a banger like him. Now we have Rasho, Duncan, and Nazr that will be our main big man bangers. Then we have Horry as more of a quicker/more athletic big. Then of course Mass, he'll be vital when playing against physical teams like Seattle, Detroit, and Miami.

I really like our big man rotation.

The Spurs would have to cut someone BEFORE they make this trade. Right?

    Hmmm....

Doesn't matter, the Spurs will still be over the cap. There is zero cap flexibility to be had

Jamison Brewer is the worst NBA player I've ever seen. I hope they don't keep him over Wilks.

And you call yourself a Spurs fan?

    Pathetic.
I am the biggest fan in this forum, hands down.

But when this franchise stabs a player in the back, a player that gave his heart and soul to the team for 6 yrs, it rubs me the wrong way. That and also with the fact that Pop lied to his team that they had nothing in the works even as early as yesterday, I lose 100% respect for the coach, a coach that I called the best coach in Spurs history for the past 5 yrs.

I am deeply saddened by this cut throat move and I can not see one good reason why they would make a move in midseason, a season that they have the best record, the best team and the best chemistry in the NBA. The Spurs have nowhere to go but down.....that is the facts....get it!!??

Jim, I can't believe you typed those words. Upset I understand. Rooting against the Spurs because they traded the worst contract on the team and got back a player that can actually help us? That's just sad. I hope you stick to your guns, though. GTFO, STFO.

I love Malik, but I love the trade more. Another excellent job by the best FO in the league.

    Pop and RC...hats off.
