Damn, I'm so sad to see Malik go. He was one of my favorite current Spurs. I'm also not impressed with what I've seen of Mohammed, but I admit we could have done a lot worse. I hope it works out well for the Spurs and especially for Malik, because the Knicks fans can be rough on players. , maybe I'll start watching the Knicks just to support Malik. But if it comes down to the Spurs and Knicks in the finals (ha ha) don't worry, I'm still on the Spurs side.

At least I am finding out who my friends are.

    you s.

Loyalty means a lot to me, and I guess it means nothing to any of you?

Mohammed blows big ones, I watch the League Pass every night, he is HORRIBLE.

Nothing has been confirmed yet. Jim, do you actually believe Pop lied? When has he ever said anything about team moves? He didn't even say anything about Elliott's jersey till the news conference.

From a basketball standpoint the deal should be fine, as long as Mohammed fits, though giving up a draft pick is certainly not appealing given the recent success of the front office.

    Knick fans will love Malik.

Who the else on that team hustles?

Plus Malik is well-educated and articulate as , the media will love him.

MB brings up a good point, why the are the Spurs so easy to give up first round picks?

One good by-product of this trade is that maybe Holt will now feel like he can afford to resign Devin. That would be nice. I sure hope they don't keep Brewer!!!

lotta malik fans here Jimbo, but the sky is not falling...

obviously a salary dump move, but the trade could have been alot worse...
i'm sure we're all hoping naz's d proves more valuable than any bench scoring malik could have provided when the playoffs come around....

if naz don't work out, you can unload him next year....plus we all know scola's coming soon....high hopes for that guy...keep da faith bro.

I am the biggest fan in this forum, hands down.

But when this franchise stabs a player in the back, a player that gave his heart and soul to the team for 6 yrs, it rubs me the wrong way. That and also with the fact that Pop lied to his team that they had nothing in the works even as early as yesterday, I lose 100% respect for the coach, a coach that I called the best coach in Spurs history for the past 5 yrs.

I am deeply saddened by this cut throat move and I can not see one good reason why they would make a move in midseason, a season that they have the best record, the best team and the best chemistry in the NBA. The Spurs have nowhere to go but down.....that is the facts....get it!!??
and you call yourself the biggest fan.....Jimcs creditability rating = none
from your last few post it seems like you are about 10 years old or just making for the best temper tantrum

Maybe Pooh could put ex-Pooh-cer Jamison up at Pooh's mom's house for Jamison's short stay in SA?

You've never been to a Knick game or read the NY Post, have you?

MB brings up a good point, why the are the Spurs so easy to give up first round picks?
Probably had to throw in a draft pick to get them to take the salary.

A benefit from the cheapness angle is that 1st rounders come with a multi-year guaranteed salary.

Damn its a good trade but you always hate to see one of your favorites go. I'm a miss Malik, I mean he always shined against teams like Dallas when we needed it, but on the other hand he would piss me off by not just playing. But the NBA is a business and I'm in the business of winning so if this helps our chances of winning the ring then I'm all for it.

P.S. What does this mean for Philly's Famous and the new one he was planning on opening up by my house. I'm pretty sure he'll keep them since he's an SA favorite. Oh well we'll see if the trades even official yet!

Well at least Nazr has a cool first name and is a lot better than a player like Cliff "The Playoffs Make Me Wet Myself" Robinson. Rose will be missed but I hope he tears up the Eastern Conference.

Good luck, Malik. You were a warrior and you leave with two rings. Spurs fans and management turned on you but there are still some of us around that believed in you. It's your time to shine.

Maybe because they already have four-five guys overseas who they want to bring over? Or maybe because they don't want to give guaranteed money to the 30th pick in the draft? Or maybe because an age limit will be included in the next CBA, rendering the next couple of drafts extremely weak?

Wow, if this is true, it's a good trade. I much as I loved Malik, he was too inconsistent. We know have a legit backup big man or starter over Rasho. AND we get rid of the horrible contract.

Maybe they trade Rasho next, now that we have another C, but I doubt they do that much turnaround with so little time left in the regular season.

That's right. I said 2 1st round draft picks. It wasn't mentioned if they're back to back, but they said 2 1st round picks.

I think one of the weird things that Spurs fans might not be thinking is what if he turns out to be better than Malik off the bench?

They'll probably have to re-sign him in a year to a bigger contract than Maliks.
