I like the school but I have to say that I think UTSA needs to start rejecting a few students to raise it's academic standing. The cynic in me suspects that they like the money that all those student's bring in. I realize UTSA serves a certain population and demographic but "Tier 1" status and open enrollment are mutually exclusive.

FWIW, I'm proud of the work I've done there and I know there are good profs, I'm a '98 alum and plan to finish my MS in spring.

enrollment actually has gone done the last few semesters because they have raised their enrollment standards.

They are 3-4 and second to last in the West Division only in front of Texas State. When it comes to Men's Basketball, TAMU-CC >>> UTSA and they have only been in conference for about 3 years now and only had a D1 program since 1999.

it just wasn't a priority back then...lynn hickey got here in 1999 and they've actively been trying to do football the last 5 years. it's just taken longer than anyone expected. the recent delays (this whole year) have been at the blame of the board of regents...
