I'm not 100% sold that this means we need to trade Hill and Mason for Carter. Are we really any more assured of Championship contention with Jacque Vaughn getting significant minutes?
I think Horry may be the key now.

And now your second best player is out for the year.
Anchorman references are always money.
60% of the time, they work everytime....
You are a smelly pirate hooker.
Why don't you go back to your home on Island?
He is? Who are your sources? Oh right you're just speculating. Thanks Mavs fan
You keeping that, and he'll never play again.
Oden blew his knee by getting off a couch, it's possible that Manu had a severe injury during the all star break by doing some basketball drills.
I don't think a single second that it's a CIA move and that Manu isn't injured. It's way too tricky, even for Pop.
Im gonna punch you in the ovary
If the Spurs wanted to keep his injury quiet, good going LJ!
Anchorman jokes are old and unfunny.
Church of Manu.
Milk was a bad choice.
Maybe the Spurs are telling the Nets Carter isn't enough to put us over the top if Manu is out for a bit so we're not giving up both Hill and Mason?
Ooooh yah because the Mavs were a real big worry of ours. Please.
I wanted to agree with something you and a couple others mentioned about the guys looking out of it last night. I mentioned it to my husband and another poster here. I know a couple people have said that's nonsense, but when you watch these guys as much as some of us do, you notice things like that. The team looked drugged last night. They either told Tim and Tony that something's really wrong with Manu or they told them they're trading him. WEirdness, whatever it is.
It sounds like the cat was already out of the bag.
Yes. I'm still not going to contact a mutual friend from Argentina to ask, because Manu always has no problems talking publicly about these things. The other theory is that they're waiting for test results, and don't want to talk until then.
"Then why trade for him at all then?"- New Jersey
Other teams had already started speculating. We kept it quiet yesterday but once the other teams saw the smoke, we felt it was right to let Spurs fans know what was up.
If other teams wouldn't have found out, we'd still be sitting on it to help the Spurs keep the secret.
I think you make the Carter move (if possible) now because that at least gives you a colorable chance to stay in the Top 4 in the conference and reason to hope for the one break you might need to get out of the conference during the playoffs. Without Manu, neither of those things happen; with Carter but without Manu they at least remain possible.
I wouldn't normally think there would be any urgency to maintaining that flickering light at the end of the tunnel, but as the end nears for Tim, the justification for doing whatever it takes to give yourself a chance would seem to grow.
It's made with real bits of panther. That's how you know it's good.
Why Mavs Fans are bringing up Low Blow, I don't know.
Didn't rejoice with Low Blow's injury either.
Doubt many here rejoiced with Low blow's injury.
So, kind of ridiculous to post that here and now !
