Default It is an odd year...

I know with Manu down and out the Spurs lost a little bit of hope, but I seriously do believe that we have found ourselves in our best possible position.

Yes, we play the Mavs in the first round. I know heated memories of '06 come to mind and the Spurs should have three-peated had Manu not fouled Dirk, but I think the Spurs can beat the Mavs. I don't think it is a sure thing as the western conference playoffs never are, but I do believe the Spurs have fallen into their best position for what they have to work with.

Say we beat the Mavs. I feel confident that we can take on the Nuggets or Hornets. I am again not sure about the outcome, but I think the Spurs can win. We beat the Hornets last year with a Manu slightly hurt, we just beat them tonight, and we would have home court over them. If we are to play the Nuggets we should remember that we almost beat them without any of the big three.

And best of all, the Spurs are not in the same half of the bracket as the Lakers. I do not think the Jazz will beat the Lakers; they might win one or two on the road. However, I do believe that the Rockets or Portland (who has been similar to a Warriors in '07 to the Lakers this year) has a good chance of knocking off the Lakers.

Then it might be possible for the Spurs to play a Rocket or Blazer team in the WCF, both teams I believe the Spurs can take on. Then we might see the Cavs in a '07 rematch.

Now this could be very wishful thinking on my part, and it is. For all I know the Mavs could beat the Spurs. I certainly don't want that to happen but it is possible. We have to take one game and one team at a time.

"Now, if a player does not have an altercation on or off the court once each month, we fine him. I've tried to get this into the press, but people won't pay attention. And, the guys who are our top four scorers, each of them will be required once every two months to appear on MTV. And the guys who shoot the worst free throws over a one-month period, the next time we have a TV game, they are required to look into the camera and beat their chests after they make a good play. I think then we will have a little bit different reputation."

We just have to take it one game and one series at a time. We've done all we can do, we took care of business and secured home court in the first round.

Lets get geared up and take down dallas, then lets get geared up and take down the nuggets or hornets. If we manage to get to the WCF anything can happen. As long as we have a 90% or better Duncan and Parker continues to keep his foot on the gas then we have a chance, however small anyone may think it is, to beat any team in the league.

Believe!

Yeah I really think this series is gonna be good on Duncan's knees.

The breaks between games, the lack of travel. Pretty ideal.

Duncan looked unstoppable in that game tonight. Granted he had wuss boy David West and stiffs Melvin Ely and Sean Marks on him....

there's a loooooooooong road ahead of us, and it's more uphill this year than any other year previously. i think this team has all the tools to "shock the world" but they absolutely have to overcome their "fatal flaw" which is long, unproductive, inefficient offensive droughts.

I think they'll be fine if they can do that.

This year just might be odd enough for us to win it.
