    Another long 3 option

Oberto/Bruce work. I don't know if the Bobcats want to clear some money. They'll have to re-sign Felton

    ----------------------

Charlotte hasn't exactly been selling out games, and after they sign their first round pick they'll have approximate total salaries for 09/10 of $ 58.8 million without even re-signing Raymond Felton or picking up the min option on Sean Singletary. I'm guessing they don't bother keeping Sean May.

    Wallace's contract estimated by shamsports:

    09/10 - 9.5

    10/11 - 9.5

    11/12 - 9.5

    12/13 - 9.5 (player option)

Larry Brown gets sick of everyone who ever plays for him unless they're a total scrub, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Gerald Wallace on his "get him off my team" list.

A straight salary dump of Wallace for Oberto + Bowen works via the espn trade machine. One small problem would be that Brown might be inclined to not even cut Bowen just to keep him around.

Positives for the Spurs : great athlete who's still young (27 to start 09/10) and can run and jump with the best of them. Still widely regarded as a great defender.

Cons : Walking injury-risk. His career could be jeopardized by another bad fall, he's had at least 4 concussions with Charlotte as well as a collapsed lung. He's an atrocious 3-point shooter. No longer blocks shots like he used to. He has close to zero playoff experience and could just be a regular season wonder, logged a total of 42 playoff minutes with Sacramento over 5 years ago.

With Felton looking for an extension soon, Charlotte would probably ask the Spurs for Hill to be included in any such deal if they part with Felton. It would be a tough decision, but Wallace would help us out a great deal on both ends.

Michael Jordan has been said to be a fan of George Hill as well.

Easily Gerald Wallace..his defense would be a huge asset, as would his slashing ability..no chance of acquiring him though..

Hmm. That's a tough one. Wallace's lack of a three point shot hurts him in our system, but his other qualities are hard to ignore. I think the biggest question it can he play the 2 guard. If we were going to trade for Jack we would probably send Mason so Jack could start at the 2 and spend some backup minutes at the 3. We would probably do the same to get Wallace and he would need to be the same sort of player. It's not really worth taking on his contract if we are going to have Wallace strictly coming off the bench at the 3.

    GW's playoff pedigree is unknown. Jack's isn't.

Let me bump this thread up. Obviously, Gerald Wallace, played against the Spurs just yesterday. Despite his poor outing yesterday, he is still leading the league in rebounds at 12.4 per game. He is also a decent help defender with his steals at 1.67 and 0.75 blocks. Do remember he used to average 2 blocks and 2 steals a game when he was younger, the last player to achieve that for an entire season in the league.

Wallace would be amazing as a Spur, and it would be a dream to trade RJ for him.

But alas, it will never happen. No way Larry Brown gives up Wallace.

The OP's contract info is incorrect. His making 9.5mil per season through 2013. That's still too much for a 2/3 that doesn't have a three point shot.
