You would love this beer.

Picked up a couple of bottles for 9.99 each. Exceptional.
I've had that one, it is great I had the guy at Beverages 4 Less ship me one a few years ago.

At that price, I would love to try it Is it widely distributed in USA? Can I find it at Whole Foods or Specs?
Yeah, with 10% ABV and a 750 ml (25 oz?) bottle, you almost drink it like wine. Take a look here:

Hopefully the list is up to date and you're in the vicinity of one of these stores
I was actually very happy with the price tbh..Chimay is like 14-15 for the same size. I would love to find one I love for 33% less tbh..Unfortunately I don't live in a city that seems to sell it, but I am in SA quite a bit.
Anyone ever try the BLK Fist? It's by Mikkeller and is 26.1% ABV--it's really potent and if done right one of the best for the buck. Also tried the Gone to Plaid by Noble Ale Works and the Simtra by Knee Deep--which was my fave triple IPA that I bought this past weekend.
I moved to San Antonio so I couldn't make it unfortunately.. but yeah all those beers are great. Karbach is definitely top 5 breweries in the state(which isn't saying much) but it's impressive for how long they've been around. Also what did you get? Regular fighter or BBA fighter? I thought they were going to do BB fighter on growlers too..
Hey leemajors are you aware of any place in Austin that has tapped Deep Ellum's Oak Cliff Coffee Ale? I had a taste of it last weekend, and now I'd like to have a pint but I may not be back to Dallas for a while.
it's on right now at Draught House according to Taplister.
Thank you, I wasn't familiar with Taplister. Apparently Deep Ellum doesn't distribute to SA at all, but I will be in Austin tomorrow
I only know about it b/c Draught uses it to list their beers and update their monitors
Finally got a chance to try Arrogant Bas . I have no idea why I waited so long. Recommendations that taste similar to this outstanding beer are appreciated.
Wow? Stone makes some other brews that are a great starting point. Pliny the Younger is releasing or released already…didn't go to the local tap house though.
Well, Oaked Arrogant Bas Ale is pretty similar.
You can get 4packs of the Oaked. I have never seen bombers of it, nor have I seen 4 packs of the regular Arrogant Bas . Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale reminds me a bit of Arrogant Bas , but I'd still take the Bas (Bigfoot is outstanding of course also). This is about the time of year Sierra Nevada has 6 packs of Bigfoot, but I think they stop producing it after February if my memory serves me right.
My favorite Stone beer ever was a release they did in 2010 called Lukcy 13asartd that was a blend of Oaked Arrogant Bas , Arrogant Bas , and Double Bas . Double Bas is another awesome Stone brew; a much higher alcohol content take on Arrogant Bas , and much sweeter too (I prefer the original myself, but it's an absolute A+ beer). I think Double Bas is released around November or so, so good luck finding it now. It's funny that it was barred from being sold in Texas for so long because it includes the word "masturbatory" on the write-up on the back of the bottle!
We're talking shades of perfection with those beers though.

Other Stone Brews that are not to be missed (unless you hate IPAs, which you can't if you have good enough taste to like Arrogant Bas ). They're both year round.
Stone IPA
Stone Ruination IPA
I'm sure leemajors will have some recommendations for great Stone brews too. Their pale ale is good but not anything special, and their smoked porter is similar (GREAT if you're eating BBQ though).
The last time I tried Stone IPA it was just a bit too over the top bitter for me. I may give it another go since I've delved further into stronger beers since I first tried it.
ruination is epic. they call it ruination because once you have it it shocks your taste buds. you'll never go back to ordinary beer again.
you can never go wrong with stone or sierra nevada imo. their products are drinkable art.
i'm not exactly a seasoned veteran on the topic but North Coast has probably been the best i've had. it's what i always look out for at bars. their stout is amazing
I didn't really care for Ruination. Basically a hop bomb without any other flavors to back it up. I tried Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA though and it is now firmly in my rotation. Probably the best balanced IPA I've had to date.
IPA's typically have the highest alc% at bars, but i'm not going beer hunting because i'm necessarily out for a high% drink. IPA's typically taste ty compared to other lagers/stouts imo
Lagers bore the out of me now. The only one I can say I really like is Pilsner Urquell (which is awesome). Maybe it's just an age thing, as I wasn't a fan of IPAs at your age either, and now they're my go-to beers. Maybe the bitterness of IPAs is too much for younger tastebuds?
but seriously its not that its too much. i typically prefer stouts to anything else, and people say those have too bitter a taste. i usually just look at what stouts a bar has besides guiness and try some of those out. north coast is usually a good brewing company to look for
Ballast Point's Fathom IPL was the son. I'm Tthinking TSA may back me here. Not something I reach for all the time, but I enjoy han's Pils from real ale, lagunitas pils is another good one
You ever tried the Rogue Chocolate Stout?

That's one of my top 2. Love Sierra's stout also, and Guinness Extra Stout is always a favorite. Then Deschuttes Black Butte Porter is awesome too. If you're ever in Wyoming or Montana there is a spectacular stout out there called Snake River Zonker. What I would give to have that stuff sold nationally. Great great stout but I'm not going to pay $40 for a 12-pack to get shipped from Wyoming. Still, that's the other of my top 2 stouts.
