Dice has been coming around but i'm sure Ian could be more productive than Bonner out there. Especially on D.
Ian is screwed . . .
because it's time for Hairston at the 4! Oh yeah!

Dyess is fine... definitely dont want to see bonner in there anymore.
This would be a good night to give Ian a test run. It's a b2b (sort of) and Tim, Tony & Dice could all use a little rest. This might be the last opportunity before the final push to see what they are going to get out of Hairston and Mahinmi moving forward. Pop's rotations tonight are going to tell us a lot about what to expect for the rest of the season. If Ian doesn't get on the floor tonight he probably never will.
Makes too much sense for him to play.
Therefore he won't.
Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with Dice's production, but I'd rather have more big guys than fewer. I'd love to be in a situation where Dice is the backup 4.
1 minute of play 1 rebound 1 miss shot but at least no TOs!
Perfect game for him to get some meaningful time with the b2b and McDyess injured. Sadly, after this game, I give up any hope of seeing him get any real minutes. To add to the frustration, Hairston got just as much time, because of the defensive stopper/three point specialist that is Keith Bogans. Not that I wish injury on any player, but Bogans could break his leg, and Pop would still find an excuse to play him over Hairston.
Did your head come out of Pops arse for a minute or are you being sarcastic?
Sadly prescient.
Garbage time barely counts, but if you are counting he got 1 rebound in 1:12 (which he had to rip away from Malik LOL) keeping consistent with his average of getting either 1 rebound or 1 point per minute of play
Although I haven't seen Mahimni play except once or twice in garbage time this year, but after reading his box score for the Spurs-Rockets game, he looks like he can at least get into the rotation. But I just read an article on 48 minutes from ( A Look at the Austin Experiment in Houston), which was posted after the Rockets game that states Mahimni is still too foul prone, has trouble with man to man defense, and in terms of shot blocking, shows little discipline. So after reading that, my guess is that Pop still doesn't trust Mahimni enough to play him meaningful minutes. Seems like we will only get to see Mahimni in garbage time.
Interesting points, and they must be the reason for what we're seeing.
That said, young players are foul prone, especially bigs, so I still don't understand that argument for a guy who hasn't gotten consistent play (a few preseason games is not enough or Blair wouldn't get into foul trouble).
And I'm not convinced that Mahinmi's defensive value relates to playing man-to-man, though I'd bet that he does it better than any of the other bigs simply due to being long enough to disrupt ball movement and shot selection. The only thing I'd like him to be is the guy waiting at the rim with his hands up. That kind of discipline is not one of those things analysts say "you can't teach", in my opinion.
It just seems weird that Pop won't give Mahimni any playing time. Most young players like Mahimni need playing time to work thru their mistakes, so why doesn't Pop let Mahimni do this? Once again, very weird situation.
Why is Pop turning into Larry Brown II, I thought he had truly gotten past that. Spurs supposedly need a young, athletic BIG yet have one who can't break rotation because Pop think Bonner is going to turn into Horry part deuce, gimme a break. I wish they would have cut the guy and allowed him a chance to play for someone else.
