I have to side with Onyewu on this one. He's coming back from an injury that sidelined him the entire year last season, and since he's practicing with the senior squad, then he's trying to get match fit again. And what's a star forward doing slidetackling a defender in practice anyways?
I was really excited when AC Milan signed him last summer. As a rough defender that he is, I thought he'd have his way with the delicate italian defenders. It's a shame he was hurt last season, but if he injures himself again, his value with plummet and his career in Europe is probably over.

I have no problem admitting I don't know of nearly half the roster... well at least 8 of the 18... so close enough... And I like to think I kinda know more about the national team than the casual observer, but can't claim to know much about these dudes. That'll make the game next week good to see what the "future" holds for the US.
Interesting on the Bunbury call up. Bunbury is Canadian, has played with Canada's U17 and U20 and has even said he thought it would be wrong for him to play for the US... Yet there he is.
Love the call ups for Ream and Rogers. Do t know about 6 of these guys, which is exciting too!
There's a lot of MLS youth in there. Excited to see Tim Ream, Bunbury and Agudelo in there the most. Also excited to see another game from Lichaj and see Diskerud capped.
Yeah he's more of a lock to get time with team Canada so his choice of the US is interesting for sure.
Should be good fun seeing the young guys get their first Cap against the S. African "A" team.
I'm pumped to see Gale Agbossoumonde.
John Harkes last night said he thought Ream was already ahead of where Gooch was pre-injury. Good sign since our backline is weak and our best guys (Boca, Dolo, DeMerit) are unlikely to play in 2014.
