According to a person familiar with the Knicks' thinking, the club will explore trading Wilson Chandler, possibly packaging him with the expiring contract of Eddy Curry. The Knicks would love to trade for a premier outside-shooting big man.

Chandler, who has had ankle surgery two straight offseasons, has a contract the Knicks likely will move to be enough under the 2011 salary cap for a maximum contract.

I was really high on Chandler during the regular season (he was on my fantasy team and put up great stats) but these numerous surgeries on his foot/ankle are starting to worry me. He missed the last 10 to 15 games this season with a sports hernia or hamstring injury (forgot which one it was).

If the Knicks want Bonner and both teams can find a way to make the deal work then I wouldn't mind 1 year with Curry.

Why exactly would the Knicks want Bonner?..

Most every big man can shoot 3's... I would expect they want a big that can make 3's... which begs the question again: Why exactly would the Knicks want Bonner?..

Good question, I thought 40% was pretty good from 3pt range especially having more than 230 attempts from that range. So in your book I guess that does not make a good 3pt shooting big, huh?

If the Nuggets are horrible this year, and want to get rid of contracts I wouldn't mind Wilson Chandler. He can play some small ball four and he is a real good defender and shooter, if Spurs decide not go with either Young or Maggette . Bonner plus Mills/De Colo and possibly a 1st rounder would be pretty good deal. He is injury prone though is my only concern.
