We need to elect an expert on jazz around here. Not enough jazz convo, specifically pre-golden era jazz convo.
Can you talk prewar Jazz? Do you know them old primitive blues? Right over there some...16...big books on blues, jazz, country, rock. Now add over 7,000 CD's, records, tapes.
Give Louis Armstrong, Jellyroll Morton, Bessie Smith, Blind Lemon Jefferson The Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Chuck Berry, Little Richard.....a listen.
Anyone have any nominations?
Where is "right over there"?
Dude wanted to talk jazz, Avante names one and a half jazz musicians and tries to change the subject.
Well let's see, how about.....book shelf.....right over there by the TV.
Books on music, the Middle East, the black experience, Poe, ens, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, also there. Then out in my Fortess of Solitude, 0ver 10,000 more books.
Actually the guy didn't want to talk jazz, he got jazz and blues mixed up but I played it off.
He did not get anything mixed up.
Dude, are you really as stupid as you act? All that was about was Avante, ok? My thing about old blues. He said jazz, but meant blues.
Blues came way before jazz.
If that's the case, he was trolling you.
I like to show off the knowledge, it's funny watching how people act over it. They try everything to NEVER EVER....you sure know a lot. I get a kick out of it.
The first jazz record was recorded in 1917, the first blues 1920 but.....unrecorded blues came over with the slaves, that isn't true with jazz.
Any nominations for resident jazz and blues expert here at ST? I'd ask pgardn but since he's got his plate full with being the speed and track Nobel-level expert, it would be asking too much. God damnit, we need an expert on this, stat.
Dude, anyone who thinks some middle school kid can run a 20,00 200m knows....0....about sprinting, ok?
Dude, there is nobody here who can talk them blues/jazz but....me. Live with it.
Then ya add football, music in general, yep....a damn know it all.
Watch this...
What old blues cat only recored ....one...side, and nobody knows his name or how that happened. On the record he calls himself............?
Give me the old blues cat who was discovered in prison?
Give me a dozen...Blind....blues singers.
Yep, all a mystery....here.
That's three subjects. Nowhere near "it all."
Dude, what can you talk about, well?
Everyone here can talk about a lot of things. Bragging about being able to talk about something is useless bad form.
We can bicker more about this in your thread if you have to.
Cool, so talk to me about them old Alabama blues, TCU sprinters, Auburn RB's and the great sci fi authors, ok?
How about all these obscure old blues cats who only recorded a record or two?
What;s your take on Kid Chocolate, Choo Choo Winters, Elijah Jefferson and X.L.Emerson?

I'm sorry, man. You're just not the expert people want. We're looking for experts that can substantiate their knowledge. We need more substance than simple lists with names. We need the "what" and "how" behind those "whos" and no one is convinced you can provide this info.
