Chill Gorillaz cover I heard at a shisha bar last night
Met these cats the other day in San Antonio. Cool peeps. This song has a rather long but cool intro, then goes into a heavy catchy melodic rock riff during the song, then a hauntingly soundgardenish acoustic outro.
.
i really dug the self- led album and didn't know they
did one last year. I was hoping to catch them and
AWOL in Dallas but never got around to it. Cool band.

What we have there is a vocalist with guitar or bango. All before 1935. All of them shadowy figures in old time music. Ya feel like ya just don't belong there, you are peaking in on someting totally foreign to you. All but Boggs only had a couple/three records, then...poof~~~
This cat recorded one record, as we can see he was great, but......one record.

Instrument...guitar, harmonica, piano, jug band

White blues,
Female blues.
Obscure blues.....cats with but one song/record.
One of bluesdoms truly classic recordings are the first Muddy Waters takes. He was recorded in 1941 right there on his front porch at the Stovall Plantation. Alan Lomax who worked for The Library of Congress came to Mississippi looking for Robert Johnson, he didn't know Johnson died in 1938. while asking around he found that out and was told of a similiar talent down the road, yep....McKinley Morganfield.
I came to them blues after reading about the influenses of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Eric Burdon, Eric Clapton etc. Who in the is Bessie Smith, Elmore James, Guitar Slim, Blind Willie McTell, Robert Johnson etc? Well I found out that was 12 big books on them blues and over 7000 blues CD's.....ago.
Mount Rushmore of them blues.
Bessie Smith
BB King*****
Robert Johnson
Muddy Waters
***** not a fav of mine, he plays what white people will buy. Not back in the alley enought for me.
The first male blues cats started recordings in 1924 (Sylvester Weaver did record a guitar solo in 23) Ed Andrews (one record) Daddy Stovepipe, Papa Charley Jackson the roots.

I know for a fact it does talk some drug/alcohol to unleash the creativity, to loosen an artist up. Noway Miles Davis could go where he went straight.
One of the tracks on his amazing Kind of Blue album from 1959.
