lists from a guy who thinks bob dylan is a better vocalist than freddie mercury
You totally missed my point.
I'll try again.....
Bob Dylan is a folk singer, his big influenses were old blues cats, Lead Belly, Woody Guthrie. He is into a whole other sound than Queen. If you are looking for a blues, folk feel, then a guy like Freddie Mercury is useless, he's not ....down in the alley....gruff.....bottom of the barrell.....ok? Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Elton John aren't Joe er, Dr. John, Leon Russell.......ok? It 's about what ya wanna listen to.
John Lee Hooker can't sing opera and an opera singer could never sell.....I'm a crawling Kingsnake.
The Big Band sound of Count Baisie or ZZ Top? Not about better, it's about style.
Ya wanna listen to a hick with a banjo playing them Appalachian blues, enter....Dock Boggs. Freddie Mercury.....hahahahaha~~~~~~

I MUST have a huge variety of music, my moods ya understand. So that's what I have.
Imagine a black reverend singing' about... Drinking Shine... with the congregation adding their asides, talking 1927. The Big Band sound of Harry James, the gutbucket blues of early John Lee Hooker. Those 50's vocal groups...The Platters, The Coasters, The Flamingos, etc. Merle Haggard, Waylon, Willie, Johnny Cash, gotta love it.
Then there's...Day of the New, Offspring, Train, Grant Lee Buffalo, Blind Melon, Counting Crows, The Why Store etc.
Soul and funk, R&B.
....The Beatles, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Traffic, The Doors, etc
So much musc.
In the last 24 hours.....
Jessie May Hill
Blind Alfred Reed
Sunnyland Slim
Washington Phillips
Frankie Laine
Brenda Lee
The Troggs
The Sex Pistols
The Clash
The Beach Boys

wrong url
Love me some Roxy Music
doesn't know Clapton covered Marley's song
Ferry was in Austin a few months back but I had to miss it.
Yes I did, read it again. Who doesn't know the career of both artists?
I;m into....important...music, stuff like the first recorded black music. The origins of rock and roll, jazz, country etc. Yep..roots...music.
Lead Belly was discovered in Angola prison as was Robert Pete Williams. Muddy Waters was discovered while looking for the deceased Robert Johnson. The stories behind the music very interesting.
Floyd Council recorded a half dozen sides in the late 30's, he is not among the elite in the blues world. He's one of the obscure, how Pink (1927 blues cat but with a rep) FLOYD even knew about this guy...????? And Pink Floyd not a blues band, so.....???

So you don't know the history of Pink Floyd? You're pretty pedestrian for a music "expert".
Rookies I tell ya ~~~~~~~sheesh
So tell us a little about Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, ok? Who was Simmie Dooley? Who was Bull City Red? Give me the skinny on the Cedar Creek Sheik, ok? Now what do all those cats have in common, well?
I'm used to it, it is amazing however just how shallow most people are on these boards. So little depth.
So you've heard of Pink and Floyd but you can't fathom that an actual musician would be familiar with them.
I historian such as yourself might find some new artists on www.blacked.com that you may not have heard before. Serious blues cats.
Dude, what is with you never answering a ing question? Don;'t ignore what I asked you with a question, ok? You don't have a clue who any of those I mentioned were and it is hard to imagine young white guys knowing about them, they would have to be like Avante and really know them old blues. All of them are not well known in the blues world. Pink Anderson......the best known.
Been listening to this recently Dude needs to get out of jail and back to making music.
